The PS3 is really a POS for that price and considering it's been dumbed down for the EU just so they could save costs on future repairs, then expect us to pay more for the console? This goes to show  regardless of what trading arm of Sony it is they will  try and polish turds  but doesn't really have much success.



I think i'll stick with my PC to be honest at least I have control of what hardware goes in and out of the machine.

Sony can just p**** off now i not going to buy any off there goods / games ever again.

i was looking forward to playing the new final fantasy but if i cant play me old ones on the new PS3 i not going to bother i spend the extra cash on up grading my PC. down with the scum Sony

A small Sad but true fact about the PS3 is that PS2 games look worse on it than they do on the PS2, I have a PS2 and still love the games nothing on earth will make me Downgrade to the PS3, Hell its going to be a Wii or 360 for me if I want a new console.

SWG is all but dead but LA had alot to do with it to.  but sony has always been shadyi dont play console games any more so they can keep there ps3 and the 360

I think Sony with the PS3 was trying to get by on the PS2 fanbase. The PS2 came out before the Xbox and Gamecube and well took the market. Well also it helped that Sony had most of the games from Japan on their system, and the big name titles like the GTA games, Metal Gear, Final Fantasy and the like. Microsoft was just starting out at the time and really all they had was Halo and alot of the Xbox 'big name' titles would come out on the PC given sometime. And Nintendo I feel was still trying to keep the Gamecube somewhat of a kiddie system, look at the cartoon Zelda game and some of the other titles.



Now Sony kinda finds themselfs in a rock and a hard place with the PS3. First off there is the cost, it's not cheap and hell talk to almost any gamer and they would rather spend that amount on getting a 360 or Wii with some games. The PS3 online from what I've heard isn't as good as the 360 with Xbox Live Arcade (and the fact that it downloads movies, tv shows and the like) and the Wii has old school NES, SNES, N64, Sega games to download. The Blue Ray thing is just stupid and reminds me of the whole Sony Walkman thing from a few years back, where they came out with a brand new 'Walkman' that they tried to go after the IPod with. It was dead from the get go cuz this Walkman had to use a formate that Sony made, unlike going with MP3's like the rest of the planet.



The big killer to the PS3 tho is really Sony lost alot of those 'Playstation only!' titles they had. Not only that the 360 has gotten some great games on it, Dead Rising, Gears of War, Rainbow 6:Vegas to name a few. The Wii has some really fun titles on it, and lets fact it a new Zelda with Adult Link that's much darker then the cartoony Gamecube Zelda must be helping.



The real thing to remember is that no one stays on top forever. At one time it was Atari with the 2600 running the show. Then later on it was Nintendo with the NES and SNES later on. Then Sony came in and ran everything with the PS1 and 2, well don't forget that by that point Sega had put out a so so system. The N64 was still old school and went after the Pokemon kiddies. And we had great loser systems like the 3DO as well... No one stays on top forever, now it's coming down to the 360 and Wii.

PS1 and PS2 were great consoles but IMO the PS3 is too expensive to justify the price..... i may get one just for MGS4 and Killzone if they're any good though. Not to say i like the otehr consoles because personally i think the 360 doesn't have any good games and the wii is last generation with a controller i could care less about.

I'm sticking to PC for the next 5 years tbh.

well I hate SOE as well, But I got say that the PS3 is the best console I ever Had!(sorry), Oh btw.. Sony had said it would change to software emulation once it was done, with that they can even improve How PS1/2 games look, Adding anti-leasing and playing it in High def.
