And just after that, pigs will come flying through my window. They won't do it for us. Believe me, I miss it just as much as the next guy, but it's not happening.
They'll run with NGE to the end first.
Lol! Very very true, however with the *not to be spoken of* project making good headway someone at SOE has to have seen it, maybe even hopped into the stress test and thought OMFG! they have more people here just jerking off than there are logged into bria!
Smedley had said it was impossible, a handful of college students have proven that it is in fact possible. I realize common sense isnt exactly one of the gifts that people at soe, seemingly, have in abundance but still. As the voice said in Field of Dreams, "Build it and they will come."
With that said, I imagine it'll be closer to what was snipped :PQFE and LMAO.
Future content? this game has a future? I swear though half the people who say they don't play still do. I must be like the only one left who doesn't. Maybe I should just give up and resub since I seem to be the only one fighting this battle
All houses/harvesters/factories removed, all toons deleted, all accounts cancelled, and that's the way it's been since one week after the NGE hit the fan. No plans to change it, either. Oh yeah, uninstalled SWG, deleted all remaining files and folders, never even looked at the trial download much less pulled it down.

I imagine that the announcement will either be the opening of pre-cu servers or something to the effect of: Since the release of the NGE Star Wars Galaxies has seen it's ups and downs. There have been some key departures from the team. However, we are stronger now than we ever have been. Expect us to continue forward making Star Wars Galaxies better and better with more Star Warsy Action and Iconic things to do. We have finished revamping all the classes now we can bring you Beast Mastery! Thats right ladies and gentlemen we have heard you loud and clear. All classes will now have the ability to choose from a special third branch in their skill trees. This branch will allow you to find eggs from specific Iconic Star Wars creatures that you can hatch and then train as your very own pet!
Ok... I hate to say I told you so But SOE is that easy to predict:
We also would like to take this opportunity to mention some recent changes in our development team. As you know, SWG has been live for almost four years now, with many of our team members working on the game since the start of development more than seven years ago. Two developers that have been on the game since the beginning, Grant McDaniel, a producer at Sony Online, and Julio Torres, a producer at LucasArts, have moved on to other projects.
First off, we’d like to thank all of you for your enthusiasm for the game and your excitement about all the new features we’ve been able to implement recently. We also appreciate the constructive feedback you’ve given us over the past year, and we encourage you to continue to share your thoughts and feelings about the features we’ll be adding in 2007.
Today we are publishing our plans for Chapter 6, which centers on the new Beast Master expertise tree that will be available to all players. We are excited about this feature, as it addresses a major community request while also delivering a more balanced gameplay experience and opening up the very fun and rewarding activity of crafting and raising pets to all professions.
What's really funny though, is how CH wasn't Star Warsy nor iconic and how no one played the class (even though the no longer existing astromech statistics from before the NGE said the exact opposite). But now it's being brought back into the game in a form that when Helios had brought up, was shot down immediately as being trite and a pathetic shadow of what being a ch was all about.
The community says no, and they go ahead and go with it. It's funny how they talk about how important the community is but refuse to listen to one word that is said to them. I kinda wish I worked at SOE... a place where reality has absolutely no bearing on what they do day in and day out completely cut off in their own little vacuum of everything is peachy.

I never bought that 1 percent crap, even for a moment. I'll tell you what: If only 1 percent of all subs played CH, then all of them must have been on my server, because you couldn't walk anywhere without tripping over a CH.

According to the last astrometrics they had posted back in september of '05, I think, they had CH above all entertainers and crafters, above commando, fencer, Master Light Sabers, Master Defender, Master Healer, and a few other classes. I think it was close to 1 in 5 or so. Of course those astrometrics only counted mastery, never counted the dabblers etc.
Oh well, SOE SWG is dead, long live *not to be named SWG*!
