And who are you to tell people who subscribe to this site what and what not to post?  This is THE place to post about what games suck and what games are fun...  and if someone gives us 10 paragraphs about one or the other then that's great!  It's why we're here!

You are wrong. I love reading about people coming to their senses and quitting this game. I love hearing about potential revenue that isn't going into the pockets of SOE. Just because you and the other vanboys are threatened by sooooooo many people leaving the game doesn't mean that there aren't other people who do the happy dance every time somebody posts an "I quit" thread.

but because of people like you it's hard. I bird watcher without any knowledge of mmorpgs could easily come in here

It's a game.  You are not signing a life-long contract.

You pay, you play, you are entertained.  When you are no longer entertained... leave.  Shut the fvck up and leave. 

No one cares if you write an essay.  No one cares if you are a Star Wars nerd and you are still harboring a grudge about SWG.  No one cares if you are beta testing LOTRO or if you are going back to WoW.  Anything beyond that means you have nothing to do with your life other than snipe these forums looking for an opprotunity to omgwtfpwn someone on a forum...

That pretty much sums it up.  Now, I'm gonna go back to RL, playing a game I enjoy, or makin' sweet love.  The rest of you enjoy yourselves here at the most crybaby, bandwagon-jumping forums I have ever seen.

The only thing better then "I Quit..." posts are people who complain about them.   You obviously feel threatened enough by them that you have taken action.  If th game is as good as you say, it will stand on its own merits.  The free month is up so this is the part where we find out out not how many boxes were sold, but how many subs are retained.  Deal with it or don't click the thread.  You can always go to another website where moderators make you check your balls at the door, its your call.

Its not like anyone is trying to force people to be quiet about Vanguards faults... its just, if you don't like it why not just move on to another game, and quit bashing the game? why not take that time you used to try and put that game down, and use it for more constructiive things, like writing a review about a game you like?

I rather see people explaining why they leave with one page of arguments than with a "the game sux SOE sucks bye" message. People read these kind of posts to get a general feeling of the game before they decide to buy or not, especially when they have a limited budget to play games.

I usually make up my own mind and yes i have tried VG up to a lvl 21 character before i called it a day. For the same reasons as most quitters: bugs, game performance, empty world without a heart, more a time sink than fun.

Actually, "why I quit" threads are usually pretty informative and I enjoy reading them, (among other things). Why do you think SOE and Blizzard have those exit questionaires for when someone cancels an account? Because it means something. If I loose a sale, I want to know why. Exit posts are not bashing at all. Bashing is just saying stuff without any facts, or attacking the person/company instead of the game/feature/ or lack thereof.



Of course if someone says "I quit game X, it sucks, any game that doesn't let me roleplay a naked female dancer is not worth playing"... then I'm like "ok... that's not a big deal to me... so no big deal".   But if someone says "I quit because I have system X (same rig as what I'm running) and I was getting 3 frames per second"... then I'm like.... "ok, that's interesting info. Think I will just wait for the trial before I buy... and see for myself".



So to me, the "why I quit" threads are usually some of the most informative posts on the forum. Not all of them of course. But even if they were not, I would never propose to silence them.... and if a forum moderator ever did start silencing people for posting reasons why they bought or quit a game, well, that would be about the only thing in a forum that would make me leave.
