Well I must say after reading many of these posts and a friend of mines input I have really gotten an interest in this game, so much so I actually pre-ordered it. Of course the pre-order gift of lower monthly fee or a one time fee was a very nice touch also.

Yes, I support Vanguard and still think it is a great game with great potential, however I find it is just too much of a time sink for me. With a full time job and family I want to be able to enjoy the game I am playing and still feel like I have gotten somewhere and this game really sounds like what I am looking for.

Unfortunately I never got a beta invite  but reading all the positive posts and some great informative posts about the game I just couldnt take the chance of missing a "could be hit" for Turbine.

I mean come on, on this website, if your getting a lot of positives from the members it really makes you wonder whats going on. You dont see it happen very often!

I look forward to seeing some of you in game and it sounds like its going to be a lot of fun, to those of you who love the game you just hooked me as well

One question though, can someone give me an idea of how the UI is in the game? Is it customizable?

Out of every 100 men, 10 should not be there,
80 are nothing but targets, 9 are the real fighters.
Ah, but one, ONE of them is a warrior,
and he will bring the others home.

It is customizable, yes. I'm not sure how much, but I saw several settings for custom skins and things in the game options. (I just did the open stress test, so I'm afraid I didn't find out much more than that about it.)

Here you can find some examples på UI mods.

There is not so many examples so far, but it's still beta :)

  • LOTRO can be fun, I log in once in a while just to smoke some weed or play instruments, everything else is (attention: my opinion) boring for me.

I also had a question. Is the detail on weapons and clothing good, like say elven letter work on a sword or a mithril shirt? Oh yeah let's all try to get along alittle bet better than we have been of late on these boards (I don't mean this post). Peace.

    1. I was under the impression that the UI was not customizable.... in the sense that WoW's UI was... no mods, nothing like that. Is that what the OP meant? And if the UI does have mods, I've not seen it anywhere... am I wrong in thinking the UI does not allow mods?

    2. armor/weapon detail. I've not seen that HI-RES version myself... the low-res that was used during stress test looked good. I can only imagine the hi-res would be even better. The character models are slightly blocky, but not bad at all really. playable imo.
