LoTRO does have stereotypical PvP - Humor

In reading the LOTRO forums I came across this excellent description of the "PvP" personalities that you'll find in almost any forum. (though some types are unique to LOTRO)

Please note, I highlighted the original author's name in red so to not be accused of being a Nosferatu....(though I do resemble some of the other types)

There is a war being fought on all fronts in Middle-earth. Yes, you heard it right - LoTRO does have stereotypical PvP, and you need look no further - because its right here in the Forums. You must know your opponents in order to survive...

LOTRO Forum PvP Character Classes:

Nuker: Someone uncloaking quickly into the midst of a forum, dropping insulting/demeaning bombs and quickly darting out to watch the fallout from another screen name.

Healer: This class can always be relied upon to make you feel better if you are upset about something. Their primary weapon is the rumored Hug of Arnor.

Çästêr: Someone hacking and slashing like mad from the Encylopedia of Arda or other Tolkien resource to defend their post or destroy someone else's. Typically, they are correct to the last umlaut of Yáviérë. Tõ àttèmpt tò dëbàtê wìth öne ôf thèsë ïndîvïdüáls ìs cértíãn dëâth - fòr thê ënsúing bàrrâge ôf öbscüre Tòlkïen rèfêrencês ând intèrnätiònal chãràctêrs upön yóûr scrëën wóûld cäusê yöûr cômpüter tö rêsët.

Cassanova: Someone coming to the defense of a another within the forum because they believe that it will gain them romantic status. Cassanovi are also apt to leave unwarranted flirty comments out of nowhere - not realizing that the female avatar they are interested in is actually a 46-year old overweight balding man from New Jersey.

Muse: Anyone using more than one or or or or other emote face per post. This can also apply to the usage of pastel-colored fonts, pretty avatars, or virtual flowers and scenic landscapes. Very happy people by nature.

Tank: Someone perpetually posting in ALL CAPS or in an obnoxiously large font.

Scribe: Attcaks by compulsiveliy corrrecting speling/grammr in the posts of othhers.

PJolkiener: (pron. puh-JOL-kin-ER) Dual-wields both the Theatrical Release and Extended Editions of the LOTR Trilogy as Tolkien fact. Corrects people who have read Tolkien's work using the movies as resource material.

Stealther: Never commenting, always reading, always silent. Their motives remain secret. Of course, sometimes they are just too engrossed in Beta to be able to make a comment in the forums.

Nosferatu: Someone violently cutting and pasting the posts of other people and putting it up as their own without offering proper credit. Casters are quite frequently the unsuspecting victims of the Nosferatu.

Saboteur: Orc-like race of fans from other MMORPGs sent into the forums in order to create a hostile marketing enviornment or verbally bash LOTRO. Most commonly known to start the Eternal PvP Argument or The MMO That Shall Not Be Named Is Better Than LOTRO threads.

Knight: These are the stalwart defenders of their post, no matter the content or the topic. Will hew your head from your body if you cross them. Do not say anything negative about Professor Tolkien or his work in threads manned by this class.

Town Crier: These types are always sifting though the posts to find any and all things which they personally consider a violation of Forum policies. Apt to report you to administrators for even the most minor infraction in order to gain clout amongst other tattle-tales. Could be distantly related to Grima Wormtongue.

Berserker: A fierce warrior, the Beserker will march into the forum tanked to the gills or high as a kite - taking on any topic whatsoever. Sometimes, as a result of their state of mind - they may type by bashing the keyboard with their forehead.

Gank Clan: Loads of people in one topic unloading DD, AoE, or DoT onto a single poster. Makes a tangle with a Balrog look like a patty-cake party.

Summoner: Argues with anyone at any time over any topic in an attempt to summon forth angst. It matters not what you say, you are not only wrong - but also an idiot for posting it.

Gothlord: Enters into conflicts by telling everyone - "I am leaving LoTRO forever because..." - they can win the battle if the post extends more that two pages and sympathy is given. They re-spawn after a short period of time using another screen-name.

Jester: Anyone posting things out of boredom in an attempt to be funny.

The Valar: LoTRO Forum Administators.
