ive played WoW and dark age of camelot and ive played many free mmorpgs, even EQ  way back in the day , warhammer looks like a good game for the hardcore PvP frontier people. in the game you can control city's , build armies to plunder and overrun kingdoms. there are man classes to choose from. Mythic did a wonderful job with DAOC and they will surelly not dissapoint with warhammer.

      Warhammer will bring the truely spectacular Gamers to the field and test there medal.

AOC has given me reasons to be skeptical which is why I won't get it right away but I will keep an eye on it and read up on reviews and comments before I decide if I'll play it.

The graphics are just really unimpressive to me for the big time game it's supposed to be. With all the next gen games coming out... specifically WAR in the MMO market anyway... the graphics in AOC look pretty dated... not horrible or gross or anything... just unimpressive, bland, and nothing new or special with the effects.

Okay first of all, I'm not a AOC fan, but saying AOC graphics don't look impressive is just plain rubbish and you only make yourself look like a fool. AOC has the bestest graphics seen in any MMO so far, that includes WAR btw.

There are things in AOC that I don't like, but graphics is NOT one of them.

Yeah I always wondered myself why this game was so hyped.... I know the features and the promises, I know the potential but whether it will be a hit only time will tell, the same people are the people rating Aion then saying there is no information about the game.

That said however, I doubt this game will fall like VSoH has, this can only succeed, but will cater to the PvPers

A lot of players have asked the question "Could WAR kill WoW?!".  Ususually this is followed by a debate that ends in WAR falling very short of being able to curb the MMORPG market.  I've never read a thread that was directly towards WAR killing every other MMORPG.  The market for MMOs is so broad that many who play games like EvE or Matrix online will never switch.



The broadest comment about the game comes from threads like this.  Everything else are just curious assumptions.

Some forget this is a PvP game, having 10k poly models might look good, but wont work, get 5 ppl on screen in VG and watch your FPS drop, WAR is PvP so the engine needs to cope with 50+ players on screen while keeing a solid Frame rate, much like WoW does in 40man raids... gfx do not make a game good or bad, it just filters out the shallow people who take looks over substance.



I think WoW players like me can appreciate the gfx more than some 1 coming from EQ2 or EvE, beacuse we know what can be done with this style of art, from smoother animations to just out right crazy structures,mobs and enviroments.

No we are not saying that it will kill all MMO's out there b/c there are a varity of games and not everyone might like this one. What we are saying is that WAR might look bad but can go a whole diffrent direction. All i need to put my faith in, is how well Mythic did with DAOC and what a success it was in the PvP/RvR department.

You think it was just a coincidence that mythic aquired the rights to develop this game 6 months after WoW was released. Its very convenient, cause when people say "hey it looks like WoW" they can say  "no, warhammer is 25 years old". I believe in santa clause too.



The videos ive seen from this game dont look good at all, and ive seen a lot of them, as opposed to Age of Conan, which is supposed to release at the same time as this game. Age of Conan doesnt look like a nintendo game.

1) The Warcraft, Starcraft and Diablo games all relied heavily on Games Workshop for inspiration and modelling of characters.  (Check out the credits of darn near ALL of said games to see Blizzard thank Games Workshop and credit them REPEATEDLY)

2) The art style of WoW is healivly influenced by the Warcraft games. (Check out the original cover art for Warcrafts one and two, the orcs looks exactly like Warhavver orks.)

While Blizzard has taken said insperation from said artstyle and modeling they have added there own style and flourish to make it uniquely theirs.

Basically, what I am trying to say is:

 That WoW art and modeling style LOOKS LIKE WARHAMMER, NOT VISA VERSA.

And while I do agree with you that the announcement of a Warhammer game was no coincedance. For one thing there have been discussions about a Warhammer Online game for years, it would start up and then get cancelled, and this was WELL before WoW was ever announced.

So of course when a game world BASED THEIR IP makes a crap load of cash from the start, it behooves the original creators of said concept to make a similar game on the original IP that said cashcow was based on.

And Warhammer has been around for a quarter of a century and Warcraft/Starcraft was modeled after there IPs, this is more than easily verified by both Games Workshop AND Blizzard. Again, I say just check the credits of any Blizzard Game

So yes Silkensmooth, there is a Santa Claus.

And the look is not 'cartoony' its stylized (Pet peeve: Toontown is cartoony, WoW and Warhammer Online are stylized)

And as for the original poster:

1) They game is still in alpha, they have not even made all the races and classes yet, so to expect a 'polished' video this early in the game is ludacris and very small minded of you (in my personal opinion).

2) If your going to base a 'book' off its 'concept art' and not even its actual 'cover', let alone its insides, then you have a lot of maturing to do (also my opinion).

3) Your trolling, the game is not even HALFWAY FINISHED and your saying it aweful. even the professional reviewers had high expectations of Vanguard until the MOMENT it came out, and then gave it mediocre ratings, and most of them played the beta. So your snap judgment says a lot about the kind of person you are and your intellectial apptitude or lack there of (Once again my own personal opinion).

At the bottom is a very early ALPHA video of game play.  If you noticed, the game play is very basic.  The combat is nothing like it is now.  Basically, alpha footage is what the designers of the game give out as an early teaser.



Also, remember watching Disney movies as a child?  There were always previews of upcoming movies.  Some of these animated features were not complete, and the trailer had some pencil footage.  The final product had no pencil footage.
