this game is fun if u think are a graphics lover and patient person

is it fun? is a complex answer for FFXI. the game takes hours off your life away  and you really need patience for it takes forever to level in the game. there are many things to do and youll maybe find something fun most likely. if you enjoy good graphics this is a game for you though making money and leveling are the drawbacks of the game. SE wanted people to use their entire day to level or it is nearly impossible to get lvl 75 in a decent amount of time.

Only thin about this game. It sucks from 1-9 but after you get yourself a nice party its fun.

About getting to lvl 75: that really depends on the job you play. A couple of examples, my personal "best and worst":

WHM:

When I put up my LFG flag, I rarely waited long for invitations. Tanks and healers are always in demand.

DRG:

1-50 was a breeze. 50-55 real bad. 55-58 easy, because DRGs are good against those birds in Aht Urghan areas.

What does it matter how long it takes to find a pt?  You say there is a lot of other things to do besides party's.  So, why not throw up your ! flag and go do those other things?  Go craft, fish, quest, farm, read something you didn't know from the ffxi wiki, etc.  That's what I do.  I throw up my flag and then go do something else.  When a party invite comes, then I meet them where ever they are.  Simple as that.

Sure, you can craft, fish, etc while waiting, but "read something you didn't know from the ffxi wiki"???

There's only 2 problems with that:

1. If I log onto a MMORPG, I intend to play, not browsing the web.

2. Do you have an extra PC? I mean, in addition to the console or PC you play on? If you are playing on a PC, you can't browse web sites at the same time, at least not with the same PC! The game runs in full-screen mode, with no Alt+Tab options - pressing that combination shuts down the game. Yeah, you can use 3rd party progs to play windowed, but that's a violation of the rules. Back in August thousands of accounts got temp banned for using such tools.

Most of those account bans were for people who were using Windower, yes, but also other third-party hacks, like TParty or the Bloodpace plugins. I haven't found a case yet where someone was banned JUST for using Windower. The argument will be void in a few months anyways, as Squenix announced this weekend that they're going to be putting in windowing capability in the very near future.
