I'm on day something (5 or 6?) of my 14 day free trial and while I'm having a blast, it's still just a limited time trial, so I'm not sure you should offer me much more than advice <lol>
I've started rebuilding my Kestrel. I think I have everything back in it, except, I'm still short two missile racks. But <pfth!> even with only the two I have, I'm kicking pirate butt on every mission this witch will give me!!
I'll watch my transactions better. Currently when I lose something in the market, I don't think I'm billed for it. Anyway, I can't find a debit line on the wallet... and no new assests show up.. but I clicked on the "buy" button <sigh>
Next question/issue. My agent has a -5 Quality attitude and I "think" I've earned 77 points... I'm thinking thats "agent" faction? How many faction points do I need to change that -5 to a better number?
... out killing

You got the wrong number - thats loyalty points to that specific agent, they earn you stuff in the long run (not really worthwhile stuff for a lvl 1 agents LP give out though) you need to look at your standings with the agents corporation in your bio/skill window. then you look at the agents around in the map for ones with better quality. theres a trick in the map to show all agents available to you, its under settings, down in one of the drop down menu's theres a tab with "show my agents" tick that box and hover the mouse over a green dot to show any of the agents around.... try looking for a lvl 2 agent ( as the next level up agent with -18 quality gives out better then the current level you are at with +18 quality) let alone any other... Theres a lot more infront of you (and with the missing silo's, maybe you bought 4, when there were only 2 available, so in the end you only payed for two but thought you were buying 4. I did this with 250 II's yesterday, I thought I was robbed then checke the wallet and saw I had only payed for 3, people can beat you to the punch =P) theres more to this, just ask people. We don't bite all the time ^_^
looking forward to more questions, hope I answered something of yours.
P.S: Standings increase with every mission you do, and they do decrease(warning label is a lie) with every mission you decline, sucks cause worlds collide is a pain in the arse to do solo.

What may be happening is that as your looking up prices someone is buying it between the time the market is updated and when you finally click buy. There is a good chance of this if the quanity being sold is low, say only 1-2 items per sell order.
Binjuice, I didn't put alot of time into looking for the all agents button, I'll try again tonight (always more time in game on Fridays).
But what your saying is... I'll get better missions from a high negative number Quality than from a low negative or positive number?
I tried a negative 9 Quality agent and the fee seemed about the same as the neg 5 mission, but the mission objectives were a tad bit harder (okay these pirates actually hit me, once <lol>).
Ah well, I'll have time tonight to try looking at my map... and see who I can find. I did buy my third missile rack (one to go to fill all four slots) and finally figured out how to split my missiles between targets at the same time... so things are progressing!!
Nicoli... hm... hate to say you could be right. I do some serious soul searching before I touch that buy button. But I'd wish for a message, "sorry, sold out" or something :-P
Thanks for the advice! I'll be sneaking around the in there again, tonight!

Off topic question but you ever play Warhammer 40k Odenathus? happens that the name of your character is very similar to one of the bad guys in a story arc.
I play. Have an exstensive Space Marine and Eldar army. Have thousands of points still sealed in the original shrink wrap (tanks, bikes, flyers, things like that). Even have a Warhound Titan.
I'm not big on the Warhammer Fantasy, but I'm watching the MMO develop to see how it goes and I've started camping the Warhammer 40K mmo site to see what they come up with, too!
hmm... at one time I was pretty into the Group that made the 40K Quake server... hosted my own server for a bit - but there were to many bugs in the skins and I eventually formated the server.

I've tricked a buddy from work, into playing. So, now were in a "gang" together (yeah, our pants hang down to our knees, we both wear baseball caps sidewise and we wear matching colors)...
So, are their "gang" missions? Or do we just take turns helping each other, doing single player missions?

Well, After many days of sorta play, the gloss has fallen off
I enjoyed Traveller, very much, when I was in College. This is the MMO version and it holds true to the game, the graphics are great, the action is great, the concept is huge...
The travel times... I don't mind 9 jumps to somewhere to pick up some item or to do a mission... but set the autopilot and go watch TV, read a book or eat dinner. Your safe, nothing will happen, just do something else until you get there.
I wouldn't take the travel times out of the game, thats what gives it that feeling of huge, thats what makes the map enormous. But what do you do, when you need to travel somewhere? You don't fear an ambush. You don't get misrouted. You don't have to clear a path through asteroid fields.
And whats with the Agents?! They won't talk to you unless your docked at the station where they live?! Another reason to travel 5+ jumps, to get a mission that requires 5+ jumps somewhere else. Only to have to jump 5+ jumps back to collect your reward and get a new mission! What happened to high tech? No long distance phone calls?
It's a great game, but it's just not for me - or at least what I can see with 14 days. Sorry, wish I could stay :-P

Sounds like the World's Collide Mission. It's very difficult to solo this mission, if you can solo it at all. You'll do much better with a group. If you run it with a very fast ship so you don't have to fight your way to the acceleration gates, you might be able to get through it. Decline this mission until you know a little more about what you're doing.

LOL, try going into 0.0 sec areas and just "autopiloting" and walk away, you will be dead before you know it. maybe you arent doing the right things, like getting into a corp, and going and doing things with them. you really need more sp before you decide, 14 days is just not enough imho.
So how easy is it to start EVE, and then assuming consistent game play (say 2 hours a day), how fast is it to level in EVE playing solo?
you dont "level" you buy or start with some skills, and you train them over time (real time, they even train while you are offline), one at a time. its slow to start but once you have a few skills under your belt it is loads of fun.
