In most versions it's F2P with a cash shop but I believe for NA/Europe version(Sword of the New World) it'll be one time pay for the game, sort of like Guild Wars. Not totally sure about that though, my apologies.

I'm pretty sure it'll be P2P, because it mentions that you can play free for 14 days on the Sword of the New World website and K2 Network.  The exact wording is, "FREE to download with a FREE 14 day trial. Or buy the boxed copy for additional content and gameplay experiences", so I guess you can download the client, play the game for two weeks, and if you like it, become a paying subscriber, or buy the boxed copy on day one for in-game bonuses? It's confusing.

Edit: Upon further thinking, it might mean that you can play for free online (you'll still need to buy the boxed copy, though), but if you want to try it, you can just download the client.

If nothing else, at least the game will likely be $20:

Yeah, the press release on the NA version was intensely vague. I sort of wish a more reputable company was handling localization. Despite the game being rather boring - I generally liked Codemaster's RF Online support. Oh well, as long as it vaguely resembles the English language... I'm just fine.

Oh well, I'm okay with paying but I could always use free (being a poor college student addicted to this game is rough).

    K2 Networks corporate site says:

Sword of the New World will be free to download. Information will soon be released about its Free2Play details and any Premium options.

So there will be some sort of F2P and P2P.  I am hoping it works like MU Online (another K2 game) where you can get gold and if you don't continue your subscription you can still play just without the benefits of gold.
