Looking for a mmorpg where I can group up quickly with other play for an hour and get somthing done. I don't really like playing solo and in WOW thats all I seem to do.
I've been doing/done that in guildwars, though if something goes wrong you killed your schedule. and there are a few 2-3 hour quests tossed in there(though there are shortcuts)
I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
If you time in with friends you can long in for an hour or two and get a lot done in EQ2, but it usually take some time to get up and running. CoH/CoV missions all take 20-40 min, and group dynamics are very flexible so almost every class will be spammed with random group invites even before they have time to put up a LFG flag.
CoH/CoV is a cool and funky MMO, very different and refreshing. It doesn't try to be very difficult or sophisticated but it tries to entertain you, which really works well.
CoH is more groupfriendly, the classes are more team oriented, the scenery and setting is a bit more friendly. CoV is darker in every sense of the word, not neccesarily less fun but personally I don't like the whole dark concept much, the graphic are a tad better than in CoH though. CoV classes are more geared for solo work imo.
Get either or both, CoX is fun to play, even more because of the grouping system. you can easily group with a much higher or lower lvl player, the game will adjust your powers to match the rest. this means that if you have a friend who is a powerplayer while you play a lot less he does level a lot faster but you can still group effectively.
City of Heroes hands down. They have a built in player search function that allows you to put together a group in a matter of minutes. Why more MMOs don't feature this, I have no idea.
I'm also a casual player and I'm hardly ever able to put together much more than an hour or so of gaming time, and GW has been excellent for me.
I was an AO addict for ages but I found myself spending more time looking for a team and by the time I would get them together I'd have to log. Frustrating waste of time.
As a player looking for the same thing as the OP I'd have to say that Cox has the worst grouping system out of any game I've played. From what I remember it has a huge flaw like you cant join whilst in a mission & if you shout 'lfg' only the people that just happen to be outside (basically nobody) can hear you.

You can do a dungeon in 20 minutes and find an 8 man team in 5.
Fast gaming, and great team finding tools. The best in any game I've played.
There are endless chat channels to spam on, plus the usual whispers systems and menu's that show you who is where, who needs a group, who is what level and what class etc.
The game is group centred so your guildmates will all be wanting to get teamed up too. Guilds can all form coalitons so you get extra spams from other guilds looking for groupies.
Mission rewards are all shared for each person on the team so no matter what quest you have everyone wants to go on it too.
XP rewards are a little higher for people grouped.
At the end of each mission arc there is a super boss who requires a full balanced team to defeat. Players are used to grouping. The game design encourages it.
People higher level than you can "exemplar" themselves down to your level so your mate can still play with you at your level for a quest without getting bored or ruining your game. Also you can "sidekick" up to his level and join his team if you are lower level than your mate.

Not true in the least, people drop mid mission at times and you can simply add more in on the fly. There is a type of mission called taskforces in which you run with the same people the whole quest line but i save those for weekends. I actually play COH mostly during the week when I'm limited to a couple hours and play Vanguard on the weekends when I have free time. I'd agree I wish more mmo's would make grouping so easy it actually makes me cringe when playing other games and trying to form up a group, after a year and a half of COH I've been spoiled by the ease of it.
Peace
Quick edit if you decide to play pick up good vs evil for 30 bucks, its COH/COV in one package and the games only have one monthly fee of 14.99. You get the best of both worlds since to get to build Supergroup bases you need villains.

It's cool
CoH/CoV - D-Zol/Kinslayer
Auto Assault - Slayer
WoW, LOTRO, DDO - Kinsul
Matrix Online - Tempest

Great games and one of the best grouping MMOs i've played. I think it will fit what you are looking for.

No game has grouping down better than COH.
