Hello everyone.   I made a post a few days ago, but that got deleated because I guess I had illegal content in it.  So, I will try and edit that material out of my original post.  I played FFXI for a few years, took many breaks, and am still hooked on the game even though I quit it a few months after the newest expansion came out.  Personally, I hate it.  It's SEs lame attempt at stealing people from WOW.  It almost copies so many aspects from WOW and betrays a game that was already one of the hardest and most entertaining of them all.  So my question to you all is would you be interested in servers that only had the original game, original game and Rise of the Zilart, or original game, Rise of the Zilart, and COP on different servers.  It would allow people to play in the moment of FFXI history that they wanted without feeling like they can't go where others can go when they don't even want to anyways, etc.  Let me know what you think!  Thanks!

Hmm. Well first off, personally, I really liked the Aht Urghan Expansion Pack, I don't see how it made FFXI more like WoW? The way i see it SE realized that alot of people were done with CoP Missions so they decided to create another set of missions with a whole diferent Storyline as well as new areas, because we all know its nice to see new areas now and then.

Now in reply to your post, I would not be all that interested in just FFXI or Just Zilart and CoP servers, I really enjoy all the extras that Aht Urghan offers, I absolutely LOVE besieged and Assault, Salvage I also enjoy alot. I love being able to get to Chain 100+ in Merit parties and I love the storyline for aht urghan thus far, and am waiting til the March update so I can start on the Missions again. Theres nothing I dont lie about Aht Urghan, tho, maybe it would be nice to be able to party somewhere other than Aht Urghan areas at 75, since they do get quite over camped. Thats probably the only downfall that I can see. So uh yeah, thats at least what I think. =P

You claim SE copies stuff from WoW into Aht of Urghan to steal players from WoW? Now I really have heard everything! I love both games, WoW and FFXI, but comparing these two is just silly. Suggesting that SE, the company who has set several standards for RPGs since mid-1980's, is stealing from WoW, that's just about the most absurd I've ever heard! I feel I'm getting angry, so I'm not gonna comment that anymore...

Personally, i think Treasures of Aht Urghan is the BEST expansion I've ever seen! It's so well-done that it's simply a masterpiece! I'm not saying everything in it covers my playing tastes, but there's something for every FFXI fan. Correction, not "something" - LOTS: Optional new places to party from around lvl 50-55, merits, assault, besieged, new story line, quests, etc. And more is constantly added, just a few days ago we got more assault areas/missions. If you don't like it, just keep away from these areas.

Trust me, offering separate servers for all, none, or one/two expansions will NEVER happen, just like WoW will not have servers without TBC. Those servers would be empty. There's a chance you would be completely alone. The fact that most high-lvls who's not doing anything specific hang out in Whitegate now, not Jeuno, proves it. I have NEVER heard anyone in FFXI say they don't wanna go to Aht Urghan areas - again: NEVER!

Sorry, OP - no support for your suggestion from this FFXI (and Aht Urghan) fan, not because I don't wanna let you have those alternatives, but because I'm pretty sure no one, except you, would choose them.

I would point out the plot holes in your rant there OP but, I think Netspook did a very fine job of it.  So i'll just add a "Ditto @ Netspook" on this one and thank you btw for saving me the time of having to type all that
