I think you are right that Obama won't get elected.

But I don't think that it will be because he gets shot by some crazy white supremist.

I think he will lose because all of the moderates are going to vote for Rudy, a social liberal and economic conservative.

In addition to the swing voters going with Rudy, the typically republican voters will also go with him, though he may lose some of the more fundamentalist Christians.

Fortunately, the fundamentalist Christians who feel that Rudy is too soft on social issues don't make up a big enough portion of the voting base to make him lose.

And for the record, yes, I'm a fundamentalist Christian, but I also know that in American politics, one must vote for the lesser of two evils, ideal candidates are too rare to hope for.

Your argument is like a two legged dog with an eating disorder...weak and unbalanced.

Fundamentalist religious ideologies is the basis from which intolerance breeds.

In any case, it is ENTIRELY too early to tell who will be the next president. We don't even know who will win the Democratic and Republican primaries yet.

Intolerance breeds from misrepresentation and greed.  The Bible does not promote intolerance towards people, only acts of people.  I'm not going to get into a theological discussion with you in this thread....I qualified what I wrote because I knew somebody would say something about my religiosity...I'm surprised that you chose to jump at that particular aspect of my qualification though.

I disagree that it's too early...I would be shocked in Rudy didn't win, he appeals to the middle man too much to lose, and both democrat candidates are seen as pretty far left.

Because only two standing Senators in the history of the the USA was elected President. You either have to be a governor or vice President or State Department (this was the main way for the first hundred years but not anymore) to make it into the White House. Second requirement is that you have to be a Southerner or come from the West. The last President that came from a northern state was JFK and he only lasted four years. Third requirement is that you need to win the Southern states. No President has ever been elected without winning one or more Southern states since reconstruction.

Clinton was smart when he picked Al Gore as his running mate. Clinton was elected because he won two Southern states, his and Al Gore. Al Gore did not take any Southern states including his own when he made his run. No one has ever elected to the White House without winning his home state. Al Gore did not need to win Florida if he had won his home state. All he needed was one Southern state.

These are not my opinions, these are the facts. It has nothing to do with skin color. If a Southern black conservative was in the race he will have a better chance then Obama.
That is absolutely correct. Hell, the vice presidential candidate is never picked for their capacity to run the country in an emergency, they're picked to get votes. That's it. Smart candidates generally have a vice presidential candidate who can get votes in a critical location. Lieberman was probably intended to get Gore more votes in New England.

I doubt Obama will make it past the primaries. The reason isn't racism, though. The man hasn't done anything. He's clean, untarnished, but not experienced. He hasn't held any of the offices a president typically comes from. He just doesn't have the political experience. People think he'll win because he's squeeky clean, but that same squeeky cleanliness means he's never gotten his hands dirty. He needs more experience.

Wasn't particularly trying to jump on you about it, although I can see why you thought so. Just merely stating, however I won't post anything more about as you are right, different date different debate.

As for the presidential nominees he has to win the Republicans ticket and if the neocons have it there way Guilianni won't be winning their ticket.

It's politics, the GOP will support whoever wins the primary, and Guilianni has a good track record of governing, not to mention he is fairly clean as far as scandal goes, and he knows what he stands for, which is more than I can say for the other repub front runner, McCain.  McCain is so all over the place that it's mind boggling how he remembers what he is for and against.

The biggest problem with Guiliani is that he is greener than Obama. He has no experience with any sort of federal governing. He once ran for the senate but withdrew, and other than that he only served two terms as New York's mayor. Never in the history of our nation has a person gone from Mayor to President.

Governing a city and governing a country is just far too different, and I just don't think the repubbies are gonna throw their support behind somebody with no legislative or executive experience.

I dunno about any of the candidates, I just know if Romney gets elected, I'm moving to Canada. Let's vote for a man who's political fame comes from being governor of Mass., a state that he wasn't even in for the last year of his term, because he was prepping for a run as president. Self-oriented assholes FTL.
