Uhhm, OP, the NDA regarding LOTRO beta has not been lifted yet. You may want to remove these before a mod comes in here as they're very strict about NDA breaches on here.
Funny thing, the post he wrote right before that himself, was also a "NDA breach" if NDA had still been active, but he takes time to hunt others for it. So yeah, right person to speak. The rest of his posts seemed mostly to be long explanations about games he had no experience of, so I think he is used to having a lot of opinions he likes to spread about subject he knows nothing about.
"This is not a game to be tossed aside lightly. It should be thrown with great force"
Everything set at highest setting apart from bloom which I don't like in any game..overrated imo...I like clarity in visuals not overdone glare we should have sunglasses...in some of the new games it is so over used...But thats just me
Should say I can't wait until launch when we get our hands on the High rez version..Will look even better...And a special mention about the water effects they are the best I have seen in any game...Never mind a mmo ..Not just for the visual effect which is stunning but the feel and sound of it when your are swimming...Hat's off to the dev's for that......Anyway I love this game....I just love to explore..And this is the game to do it in!..AWESOME
I also play WOW Burning crusade..Guildwars..Nightfall...And Oblivion....Love them all but LOTR online has visuals to beat them all imo anyway cya in middle earth end of april
Thanks much for taking the time to post these. I think this has finally tipped me to pre-order - an internal debate I was having.
The landscapes are very nice - I still get a sense of stiffness in the character models (particularly the arms) but that could just be residual mental annoyances from Vanguard. Any thoughts on that aspect of it?
Most of the character animations are very well done ..the emotes are cool ..But it has to be said the running animations on the elfs and humans are not very good specially in 3rd person..Don't look right to me and thats why I became a hobbit..shorter legs minor niggle for my part

Yes, the NDA was lifted long ago as its due for release very soon. Best thing of all is these images actually do look like the game, on a normal PC, with pretty much no lag.
lol, would be nice if they'd sent the beta players some sort of notification. A few of my other MMO guild mates have been asking me to post scrennies and I've told them no because of the NDA!
In game the landscapes look much better than in the screenshots......And in a sense the world does look like a oil painting..A lovely one in my view...But it never was going to be ultra realistic visually......you want reality look out the window

I cannot fault the engine and i like to do that kind of thing
It runs smoothly on a 4 yr system it runs smoothly on a 4 month system.
It looks lovely on both systems (ofc you get better eye candy on a new top spec system but still looks nice on an aged pc too).
What can i say .This game with the brand name will bring back turbine from the brink of extinction.
They now need to focus on improving the gameplay as they got a nice and lovely engine there.

Very nice screens, thx for posting this.
Question: are these shots using the high res textures from the pre-order dvd, or the standard textures?
