Better to start out with a small zone packed full of well functioning, entertaining content...
Entertaining quests in LOTRO?...No, just the same types as in wow and vanguard, been there done that...
Actually no they're not, I was questioning this as well when I first started also. The quests blend in very nicely with what is going on with the environment around you depending on which town you're in. The cut scene instances are a very nice touch also and with the speed at which I'm zoning in and out of instances it really doesn't feel like a new zone at all.

You obviously have done none of the main storyline quests.
As for size- it's a LOT bigger than EQ2. It takes as long or longer to run from Duillond to Hobbiton as it takes to run/boat from Qeynos to Freeport. And then twice that far from Hobbiton to Bree.
It's not as big as it could be, no- but there will be expansions. And what is there is packed full of things to do, from end to end.
I love these kind of replies. Lets not have a discussion on the size of lotro, this has been discussed in the other thread. Its small, face it.
As for the quests, sorry, you might have being fun, happy for you, but Ive levelled up to lvl 19 and did some of the main storyline quests. They boil down to the average mmorpg quests. More enteraining was playing music...
I am curious, what MMO out there has an epic questline and storyline that starts at level 1 and goes to max level ? The epic storyline is some of the best questing i have ever done in an MMO, ( WoW / eq2 / Vanguard are my previous games ). Other than the epic questline, the quests in LOTRO the standard MMO fare, but considering the epic questline LOTRO stands out as different.

I think the best story driven quests are in DDO personally
but like you mentioned, almost all MMO's are the same. None really have a strong epic feeling. I think that was his point as well.

I never played DDO but I do know that in LoTRO from the very first minute ingame they start you on the storyline and it builds from there. After level 5 or 6 and you leave the starter instance it is optional, of course no one that I know would not follow it. It is just too darn good to pass up.
could anyone who realy knows the land size of wow and LOTR make a comparison plz? is LOTR like one of the continents or more like stv or so? and is there as few instances in LOTR as in wow or is it as many as in ddo? do u stand around for ages trying to find ppl for doing an instance like in wow or is there a grouping interface that actualy does its job nicely( unlike the shitty one in wow)?
Is WoW somewhere in that map? I only see UO, EQ1, Asheron's Call, Horizons, Star Wars Galaxies, WWII Online, and Dark And Light. And if WoW isn't in that map, does anyone know WoW's land size?

That map is incredibly outdated... It originally was made to hype SWG's gameworld size....the WW2 Online comparison is the control group.
Some D&L fanboy added the D&L gameworld size comparison later...hah.
