Which one?

I'm looking for a new mmorpg to play and right now I'm torn between two: EQ2 and LotRo.  I know lotro isn't out yet, but it is coming out soon so I'm thinking of that (and I just got a beta key! Downloading it right now wo-hoo!).  I'm also thinking of VG but from what I've heard its crap!  Any help would be great!

Thanx!

I like both actually,  I played EQII from release till last fall when I got in the LoTRO beta. Try em both and decide for yourself. Poke yourself in the eye with a stick before you try Vanguard though, you will find the stick the less painful experiance.

    I miss DAoC

Yeh I wouldnt really recommend vanguard, tried it myself for a couple of weeks, terrible, buggy.  I played EQII and didnt really like it to much either to be honest. I would say wait for LOTRO to come out less than a month to go.

Both games are great and they remind a lot of eachother when it comes to quests, combat, groupconjunctions, graphics, overall playstyle.

EQ II has recently released a very nice expansion where you can play a Fae and that's a kickass expansion.

You need some better hardware to run EQ II than LOTRO but EQ II has a lot more content compared to LOTRO but that's just natural when their game has been released for quite some time now.

The craftingsystem in EQ II is however a lot better than in LOTRO so if you're a hardcore crafter choose EQ II.

One more thing i love about EQ II is that most of their NPC's have been voiced overed and they have hired some really good actors to do that. Some of them are simply hillarious.

If i had to play two games at the same time it would be EQ II and LOTRO.

You can download a free trial of the Fae expansion here.

It takes a lot of patching just so you're aware of it,but it's worth it so you can check the game out.
