Any "good" MMOs out now?

I was looking at EQ2, I played the trial (that limits you to a tiny region of land lol) and I actually LIKED it with out having any real motivation. That's my problem, if I have no real reason to play I find the game... boring, even though I'm sure it's an awsome game. I played WoW for 2 years (pre-BC) because I played with my friends then we kind of went our ways. I tried playing in another guild, worked for a month or so and that was it (I was a core-raider full T2 + nice gear also in a Naxx guild).

Anyway, what MMOs are out currently that are fun, in your opinion of course. SWG wont give me a key so I can't play that unless I buy it also people are saying SWG is going down hill. EVE looked cool but the skill system (as people claim) is really bad CCP cheats (I find it hard to believe but hey we're human). Screw WoW never going back to that virus, and my machine cannot play VG even on the lowest of settings with out really low FPS in cities (0-4). Also PS is alright nothing really in-depth or anything to strive for to see it taken away at 2am because people don't sleep.

I'm waiting for WAR to come out, defently an awsome game because of it's past... DAOC! Which too was awsome.

So I was woundering on what "good" MMOs are out now, I don't know why but like I said before EQ2 feels good, if you feel the same way what box should I pick up at the store (links for better detail would be good).

Well it's my opinion but I like Vanguard.  There are some who say it's not ready but it seems fine to me. For me its the best game out at the moment. Mileage varies I guess.

You might be able to talk someone into getting you a buddy key if you just want to try it out. On some of the affiliate site forums people occasionally ask for buddy keys. If you can convince them you are not a gold seller they will probably pm you one.

I wasn't a big fan of EQ2, I prefered EQ1 but that game is somewhat dated now. Still a great game though.

I've played VG during Beta, it was great but my old clonker can't handle it, 1.8Ghz AMD XP, 512 RAM, Radeon 9600PRO.

I might look into EQ2 if the PvP is kind of cool I know it will be unbalanced but I'm not too worried.

Well, if you enjoyed WOW (and burned out on the high end raiding like I finally did) you might consider Lord of the Rings Online.   Its currently in closed beta, however the open beta starts on March 30th and anyone who pre-orders (5.00 down at your local EB/Gamestop) can start playing. (Live is around 4/24 I believe)  You can even keep one of your open beta characters (max level 15) when the game goes live.

Combine that with the founders offer of either $9.99 per month for life (as long as you never cancel) or $200.00 for lifetime, never pay sub fees again (you will pay for upgrades however) and it works out to a good deal.

If you like LotRO lore (but aren't looking for a Middle Earth simulator) and really enjoy quest based Pve content ....this is your game.

PVP is the one difference, yes, despite what people say, LotRO has PVP, but its a bit different than what you are used to (Called Monster play).  But if the unusual PvP system isn't an issue, give LotRO a try and see if you like it.  (hey, for 5.00 deposit, that you can get back if you don't like it) what can you lose?

I also have played the LotRO beta, a while ago (maybe 2-4 months ago?) and It was pretty bad imo. From the settings I had it looked like a skinny ver of EQ1 mixed with AO and the game play wasn't all that great from what I can recall. I do like LotR but not really at the same time. Good movies bad games execpt BME which rocked. It might be the fact sence it's based on a book / movie it feels like I'm roleplaying too deeply... into nerd PnP D&D mode*. Ugh too many choices and they all cost money! Oh well I'm sure LotRO did change alot sence I played.

EQ2 is triple A games.. i played but recent population nerfed the pace on groupings. Right now i find DDO very fun.

All canceled. Waiting on Warhammer Online : Age of Reckoning.
