... I've always had a hard time chosing what class to be in games but most of the time the classes is about the same in every game. What the hell am I supposed to do now with so many features for each class? I was thinking from the beginning to focus on becoming a Barbarian when it gets released, I'd like to finally swing my sword instead of clicking the enemy, followed by 1,4,1 on the hotbar.

But considering the fact that wizards also have a special new playsyle makes me wanna play a wizard type class! To get to each class you need to reach a certain level so it's probably going to take months to really appreciate a class.

Problem is that I'm going to army boot camp february next year and will be gone for 11 months. I'd better break my leg or something and tell 'em I can't come

At Level 5 you choose your archetype (soldier, rogue, priest, mage) at 20 you chose your class. You can skip the singleplayer part and jump to 20 and start right away, but even if you dont the 1-20 doesn't take long. As for mages, Conan also has the somewhat typical-ish mage characters in the Demonologist and Necromancer classes. The Lich and Herald of Xotli are more unique (melee / pbaoe based)



Anyways, if youre leaving in February you'll have a good amount of time to sink your teeth into AOC as it comes out at the end of October. With an open beta likely a month before that.
