I should say that it's a turn for the better...deffinatly.

Ahazi is getting crowded again, too.

Likewise Bloodfin's population is higher than it has been in over 1 1/2 yr.  The good thing is I only see it getting higher with the reintroduction of CH/BE for all. Also the upcoming housing purge.

For sure things are looking up right now.

nah.  You are just seeing the effects of people migrating to more populous servers.  Still from the POV of someone on one of those servers its a good thing even if it means less players on less active servers.  De facto consolidation.

Three full servers and 17 completely empty servers is better than 20 almost empty ones.

Starsider has more players now too.

Chilastra too...I think most of the servers have probably seen some sort of increase.

i play on infinity and thats still all but dead. i think as soon as they start adding decay for everything again the game will get so many more subscribers. cos atm there are max cities on each planet all lvl 5 with only the mayor, guild leader and a handful of others still active.
  • RainStarRainStar Member Posts: 638

The last I heard decay isn't coming back.

I play on Gorath and I've seen an increase in players as well, i thought it was just me but I asked a couple people on the server if they noticed more people and they all agreed. SWG is definately rebounding, and its about damn time too... .. the game has really improved alot , i urge yo uguys to check it out.. and dont even get me started as to how populated ahazi has become. Especially lately... there has been a small spike of players. I personally have talked 2 other vets into playing and 2 others otw... the group of people i play with say that they enjoy it more than before(aside from the 9 prof's, which is bogus) WE all agreethat it is mroe involved and waaay more to do. WE Vet's have played since release on and off.. ponder this thought and come back to the game

The game is more screwed up and boring than it's ever been imo. I've been playing on and off for the last year but some time ago I uninstalled the game for the first time since nov -03. I've done about everything there is in PvE and there's no way you can log on and PvP for fun every now and then. With the gcw-buffs nowadays you need to grind 1h a day to have a remote chance to survive.

And last I checked, the numbers had not changed. The only place there are some other players to be seen is at Restuss. All other cities are dead.

I saw this thread posted on the front page and logged in to just to comment.

I was there at SWG launch (and before), then left shortly thereafter.  I just came back a month ago and have been absolutely loving it.  It's so much better than it used to be (in my opinion - I realize it's a sore subject for some).  Anyway, as a "newbie", I see and talk to a LOT of fellow newbies, and they're certainly more than just alts.  These are people who have never played the game and either just bought the Complete Adventures or are playing the free trial.  Chilastra, where I play, is crowded in spots and empty in spots.... but there are newbies everywhere.

Anyway, I'm totally digging it now and am glad I came back.  I hope things continue to improve.  My biggest complaint with the game post launch was that there wasn't enough "Star Warsy" content.  I feel like they've listened to that and have really tried to address that problem.  Vehicles, space adventures, fun combat, cool aliens (Ithorians?!  I always loved them).... it just feels right now.  Well, "mostly" right.  Always room for improvement.  ;-)

Yes, Danjak, I see in your Xfire that you absolutly LOVE SWG...

I haven't used Xfire in about a year.  I guess I should take it off my sig.  :-/

all I know is, I'm working through legacy and there have been people at every point along the way so far...had a cool moment  racing another player in a landspeeder with my swoop on the way to the darklighter cave, it wasn't like that when I did the trial a few months ago..there are issues, yes, but it is much better, in my opinion.
  • xarloecxarloec Member Posts: 15

Its not like it was, and I doubt any of us vets would say that.

But the population is noticably higher.  It really is.

With the upcomming purge of dead weight player structures and the return of Creature Handler abilities..... there is hope.  Add to that the increase in difficualty to PvE....and more hope abounds.

Its been a long 2 years away from SWG.  I am glad I am back.

I was there in December, and saw this: primetime in the hotspot of the game's most populous server (Mos Eisley on Bria) looked like an off-night in a backwater. Don't bother telling me how much improved it is over the NGE launch (I know it is). Until it is at least as good as Sept'05 (which looked like the aftermath of the CU launch, after the "summer people" had left), your "rebound" means little.
  • dirtyd77dirtyd77 Member UncommonPosts: 383

As your opinion mean little to us now. How bout you keep it to yourself.  Since you may have hopped in 1 time in Dec at some point and you think you have a feel for the #'s yeah right.

Come back when you've played CURRENT, troll. 1 time 4 months ago is not the current game.

Every night I've been in the Mos Eisley cantina on Chilastra, it's absolutely packed.

Yep, Bria is overflowing as well. Actually getting lag from all the people, now!

So there adding back creature handler? And decay?  What a revolutionary business tactic.  Take away something that people like, and then give it back to them!

Oh, look! Another troll who speaks without knowing! Decay is not coming back. Lemme guess? You scanned a sentence in a post somewhere to have a reason to say something?

I posted that decay was not coming back on page one of this thread.

Guess he didn't read the whole thread.

Aren't most of the good changes to SWG, stuff that was in Pre-CU?

Howdy guys, I tried the free trial about 5 months ago and had a fairly good time, things were pretty empty but I was still having fun...Im thinking about trying this out again because what you all are saying about increased population is really great; I was wondering if  a few of you might not mind sharing your name and server with me as I might be able to get into things a bit easier.
