From reading TONS of posts on many websites, it seems that there should be a massive amount of people in closed beta. I made it past the new player quests and went to a main city. In the main city I would only see one or two people in almost an hours time. Is there a hot spot in the game that all players go to?

Depends on what Beta you are in , The NA beta is more of an aftter work feel to it as well as weekends. Most part it is pretty busy in bree and probably some of the higher areas. Everyone is also spread out amongst the lone lands as well which will be you 20+ area

The opening little quest thing dumps you into an area that seems like it would be the game proper, but you find out around level 7 that is not the case and that you then get transported to "today" where you are in the game porper. You might already be past that part, and if so then just disregard this post If not though, then you'll see what i mean as you finish all the newbie quests and move on.

 

For instance, if you are human or Hobbit, unless Archet is burnt down, you are still in the newbie instance.

If you are past that part and into a main city (like Bree for instance), you should definitely be seeing tons of people... at least I am.

I still see a lot of people in the newbie instances around prime-time as well. Although once you are into the main world there is a big difference.



Another thing to note is that Bree has had a major over haul. They moved a lot of the merchants and trainers indoors now. So you won't see as many people outside unless they are travelling through.
