The Best thing about the future is that it comes only one day at a time.

For those that didn't win a ticket, and that's a lot of you... i would suggest registering at the main site for a chance into the beta.

Just so you guys know... I normally dont enter the contests but I decided to enter this one for I have been following Dragon Empires since day 1 back when it was called The Realm Online 4.x I love the game it really has shown its self every time I visit the site.

Do to complications with beta is the reason I entered this contest.

To be honest imho the way of giving tickets actually sucks . To make the amount of tickets only 50% of the "prizes" comes across as ,dunno how to put it except, immature.

Like  saying heres your prize well done!!  Saying that to two people and the first to reply  gets the *actual* prize is lame.  Just  be normal and give 20 people the prize if thats how many   prizes you have. It really sucks to be given something and then find out it was when you were asleep/working etc and you didnt claim it yet someone sitting hitting refresh at right time will get the prize.

I got ticket for RYL and when i got up in the morn at 7am GMT (UK) i claimed  before even making breakfast yet i was 777 on list lol.

I dont care i didnt get ticket for Dragon etc  as im sickened by online "kids" etc. But for crying out loud just make the comp normal and give out the amount of prizes you have instead of bummin it up that you have  twice as many  as you have.

     Congrats to the winners!

Having the option to post if what its about . Theres no compulsory *must post" forum on net far as ive found.

Well this is first time I ever won  .Was one of the winners of CoH but could not stay awake that late on that occasion.

I have no problem with the time since it would be unfair on the North Americans to make it europe time.

So the time is as fair as it can get (yes, even though I lost CoH due to it been 3am in the UK hehe).

Of course I still wish regular posters won more often though.

To gnarled and those of the same thinking:

mmorpg.com is not just about the forums.  A lot of people come here looking for news on betas(including myself)  and mmorpg game news.

Personnally I'm pretty much a lurker myself glancing these boards only once and awhile but I visit the site many times a week for gaming news(and long before they started having cool contests and this nice new layout).  Your stance on saying only forum posters with high post counts should get a better chance is like saying those who use the Live chat a lot should get better chances.  Better yet how about the most HITs on website should get the best chance? Oh yea this site would be getting hammered. image

Actually the most hits does  stand a better chance of winning.

If you log on each day you stand a better chance in winning then someone that did not log in all week.

Why some (including me) think regular users should get a better chance is simply because the forum is the lifeblood of the site.

However the contest is as fair as it will ever get.

If posting gave more of a chance the forum quality would go downhill because of spam which is something many of us do not want to see.

So yeah the time and method of winning is fine and great.

This method if I recall was not in existance 7 odd months ago or so.But a 5900 geforce card was up for grabs and was won by someone who never posted and registered just before the card was won(thus entered just for the card and left). Not even "thanks mmorg for the card" post.

Now it is pointless to have 100,000 inactive accounts that do not even bother to visit  the site unless it is to enter a contest and return only when they want to check the results..

So yeah as long as you are active and visit here regularly  you should have a  better chance then does that only mark the date to come and check the results.

    I have a quick question!

After the contest is over does MMORPG.com hand out the info for entering beta or will that come from Codemasters/Dragonempires.

Cause if it comes from Dragonempires I dont know if Ill get it because AOL blocks Dragonempires emails because AOL is dumb.

The list of winners has been sent to Codemasters since they will be the ones who will be issuing the beta accounts.

If the beta accounts have been issued but you did not receive the information please contact our administrator at admin@mmorpg.com

I signed up for the DE beta about a year and a half ago and get mailed updates as to how the game is going, and every time they say people who signed up for beta will eventually get in..kind of upset I didn't win but at least I still have a chance :)

Hello all.  Let me cover a couple points in here:

    1) We draw 2x the number of tickets for a simple reason - to get closure to the contests quickly and get people their prizes quickly.  Basically, with our contests we see about a 20-35% group that will not claim their prize in 24 hours.  So you end up re-drawing every 2 days for the remainder and end up with up to a week delay even getting the list of winners to the company sponsoring the contest.  This equates to a lot of wasted time (mine and the winners) - if I can save myself 4-6 hours a week by using a rule like this you will bet I will take it - as I don't have much of it to spare image

    2) If you don't like the contest rules...don't enter - they are right there in plain sight to read when you sign up.  These contests are free and no one is forcing you to play along.  If you don't like a chance at free stuff then please don't bother and/or try to ruin it for those that don't mind playing by the rules.  For every 1 whiner, I get 20 people who thank us for the shot at getting something - so I like to think we are doing an OK job.

    3) For those that won - I will keep you in the loop.  I sent the list of winners to Codemasters Friday morning (Hawaii time), which was the start of the weekend in the UK...I figure I will hear something by tomorrow morning from Peter Tyson.  Once I do I will re-broadcast this information to you all.

    Thank you!

You Admin at mmorpg are running these beta contest in BAD faith.
There is NOTHING in the rules about multible accounts being bared from entry. Are other people in the household to be forced to move to a different location and get a different ISP in order to have a different IP to log into your contest. Those are NOT the rules. And for you to make up stuff AFTER the fact and say well we decided we wanterd to descriminate against this and that person w/o any foundation other than your whim is just fraud.
The mmorpg website only insist there are different email addresses and I think identities are optional. What is this scam you are pulling about multible accounts and based on that you are arbitrarily blocking people that legitametly earned a winning spot in the advertised betas. This is the first you have claimed this cop-out. How long has this been going on? Are you now wanting copies of photo IDs as part of the validation process before activating mmorpg accounts ?!

Those instances are assessed carefully before action is taken on a case-by-case basis.

Some people like to do what is commonly known in the real world as "lottery/ballet stuffing". It's not fair and nobody likes it.

Please keep in mind this is a free contest that we provide in partnership with respective game companies.
Cyber Creations Inc. reserves the right to take action where required. As a professional news and information website it is necessary to maintain a safe, clean, and fair environment for visitors and members.
