How long does this damn SWG trial DL take?

Mines been going for a few hours now, and still says about 14 hours left and r ising ive downloaded a bit more then a gig so far i believe, so how large is this damn game =/

Uhm...as far as i know you can leave the space station fairly fast .At least i did leave in what 10 minutes or so.

 

Anyway indeed it takes aaaaaaaaages to download it and if you have a problem in between with the internet connection and/or computer you can start all over again.It's really plain stupid how long it takes.Never had an mmorpg that took so long to download.

I started mine earlier today at around 1 or so..it's 4:10 now and is ALMOST done. The blue line is on the end, but it randomly jumped in time to 48 fucking hours. So I don't know...I just want to try this out because it's the last one on my list to try until the slew of new ones come out this year.

Anyway, I played SWG here'n there. Had the discs, so no DL probs like you, 'less you mean patching, that can take quiiiite awhile.

He means  the patching.The downloading of the client itself takes aminute or 2.Then you think wow this goes fast..you start the updating wich goes pretty fast in the beginning...then you see the timergo further and further towards the 4hours

For someone just starting the game, it may not be too bad. I'd reccomend the Ahazi server, that one should still have a bit of life in it.

I'm currently playing it and enjoying it very much.  Different strokes for different folks. 



I'm on Chilastra server, and we have some life left in us too.  If I were you, I'd pick the highest population server that's closest to you for the time of day you play.  That will probably end up being Bria, Bloodfin, or Chilastra (at least, that's how it is for me.)

Ya my update was roughly 30 mins, thats cool. 99% (full blue)... 8 hours remaining.... wtf.... I would rather have them say up front 8 hours then suprise me and get me a little mad. Oh well at least I can finally play it, at 11:30. 6 hours to go!



Guess I should finish that research project for chem... eh.

If you decide to give it a try, after your download, make sure you at least make one character and launch in game once first. I remember the first day I got swg, spent all day downloading that patch because it got cut off once and I had to start over. Then, I figured after it was downloaded I'd reboot to get a smooth start. Turned out that wasn't the best idea, the patch didn't stick and I had to do it all over again, and it only stuck after I actually got in game.
