Im not so kind as most other ppl about leeving this sinking ship. So I'll make this short . unless you like mind numbing crafting or paying a mounthly fee to play a card game with a NPC. this game doesn't give my anything that I can't get from GW for free !  except loooooottttttssss ooofffff bbbbbuuuugggssss !!1. LOL

Guild Wars is a borderline MMO RPG. More or less just an MMO. They aren't aimed after the same crowd of gamers and guild wars focuses on PVP while Vanguard is focused around PVE. To each his own.

You not the only one jumping ship  " Unreal Technology now even refuses to Acknowledge Vanguard uses there engine anymore  its been removed from there list .. They still list games like  Dr Brain Action Reaction & Adventure Pinball  So how bad does a game have to be  to get removed , I guess Vanguard Bad

  No but it does show you what they creators of the engine  think of what Sigil have done to it ..

I don't know... it don't mention unreal 2.5 on the page... and i think VG use 2.5.  Not totally sure.

I don't know... it don't mention unreal 2.5 on the page... and i think VG use 2.5.  Not totally sure. as far as I know it list all engines  for released games & a section for unreleased games , Unreal 2.0, 2.5 & 3.0 games

Very interesting as I'm a UT fan, I started playing again when UT2004 came out. I'm very much looking forward to UT2007, the screen shots are simply amazing. As far as VSoH I played the Beta for a few months and I didn't see anything that inspired me to purchase the game upon release. IMHO Brad let 'some' of use old schooler's down, I wasn't expecting another EQ or even the EQ newness again, but at least something compelling and substantive. What made this experience even more of a sour pill to swallow is that the Dev's knew and admitted they didn't put in a hook. Hook of course can mean many different things to different people, but to me that means substance, something that is going to make my character part of the world not just existing in it.

There is an old saying " You can't teach an old dog new tricks "  I really think Brad & his time  are the old dogs  they just don't have the ability to create something new  & thats why they made what they knew how to make  EQ



Its a pity because with a different team of coders ect the game could be amazing  it has all the potential in the world it just needs a push into 2007 & leave behind 2002

  LOL god no  is all 2002 , but even at this stage its still a classic & you know it .. I never had more actual FUN in a game then I did back in my AC days , alot of games these days rely on looking great & forget the fun aspect of play  , Games like WOW are fun even if its only for a year or two .. I would rather have fun in a Game for 2 years then move on then be stuck in a gringfest for two year & then relizing I wasted two years ... although AC graphics are very outdated  I would jump at the chance to play it again if it got a new engine ..

No, I can not deny the game was great and is a classic.

Hmm, I stopped playing this game about a month ago. Bugs. Let's see:

1. Mobs stuck in the floor

2. Mobs warping off and then running back at your from 1/4 mile away.

3. Players getting stuck in the terrain.

4. Torches turning off when you chunk.

5. My Shaman had a bug where I would kill a mob, then skin it, which makes you switch into tradeskill clothes. When I would finish skinning and switch back to my adventuring gear, my mana would be screwed up. I had maybe 25% of my true mana value.

6. Players health bars not updating in PvP. I never saw an opposing players health bar move in PvP. Granted, I stopped PvPing after about 12 fights, but this was annoying.

7. Random CTD's.

8. Group bug, where the group leader would continuously disconnect. Had a warrior friend stop playing because of this one.

Those are a few that I can remember off of the top of my head. If I sat here and wracked my aging brain, I'm sure I could pitch in a few more.

This game sucks. Period.
