Just a quick question

K, I spent a day reading up on Spellborn and have a little question.  This isn't anything bad, it's just kinda an inquiry:

Looking at alot of screenshots and the way things are writen on the site I see alot of Ryzom in Spellborn.  It just seems like they have alot of similar styles to do things.

Keep in mind there's 3-4 years of technology and Industry Changes to differ.

I was curious if the Art Direction or Creative Direction of Spellborn might've previously worked over with Ryzom.

Again, I don't think this is a bad thing, I really loved Ryzom.

From what I know, I don't think there is a direct correlation between the two, as in art directors or even artists. I do believe that more recently, Joseph (Bahali?) went to TCOS after the break up of Nevrax but in what capcity, I'm not entirely sure.

I do agree though, there's alot of similarities in the games, both artistically and gameplay/style. I think it's possible we're starting to see a sub culture of the development world stretch its legs. Just like North American MMOs having their own style, Asian games obviously having a very unique look, we're  now seeing European development teams find their own "look" and niche. It's great to see IMHO.

That's a good point... didn't even think about that.  They're both Euro Designed and produced.  I just thought maybe some X-Nevrax employee's might've found a home at Spellborn.

Nice to see I'm not the only 1 seeing it though.

No. The Art Director was previously working of a little known game by the same company that at the time was still called Khaeon. No link with Ryzom although midway development (more towards the end) some people might have joined Spellborn from Ryzom. They can always use more artistic talents iirc.

Gameplay will of course be nothing like Ryzom. Thank God.
