I don't see how how art style can be repaired without completely overhauling it. I know it's probably my knowledge (or lack thereof), but could someone explain it?

They basically just threw something up there. The artists had to create a rough layout of the land so the design process could continue, just to give the Testers and Animators something to run around in. They will undoubtedly go back and polish up all the environments, but right now, Gameplay is the most important thing.

To the issue at hand, Jeff Hickman explained that because Dwarves and Orcs don't exist they wouldn't try to make them realistic. He said something along the lines of, of course they're gonna be cartoony, they're dwarves and orcs for crying out loud. So naturally they are going to look different from the Other races. Pretty sure that when it comes down to it, and every race is together, you'll be too busy gettin your ass kicked to notice But in all seriousness, I see where you're coming from. Don't agree, but then again I'm just thinking of how the game is actually going to look when I'm playing it. Some of those ss do look photo-shopped btw.

Gotta give Props to my man Math_Blaster. You dirty bastard, brought back that terrible memory to my brain. I still remember the Space Garbage blasting level

i see where the op is coming from with the art direction, that priest looks totally whack in that picture, he is too small for one thing, it has to be photoshopped, have you had a look at the castle in the background!!? im not sure about your point on the barrels though, the dwarves would need big chunky barrels to carry around their gunpowder ect. as they are master craftsmen and the stonework looks about right to me, as their engineering skills are second to none in the warhammer world, i can deffinatly see where you are coming from but the artists and designers on the game are getting payed a hell of a lot more then me (i hope) to create a game that looks and feels like the warhammer world and we have to trust them to get it right i guess, only time will tell, and we will soon have movies of real ingame graphics (and not dodgy pre alpha podcasts) instead of dodgy stills like those :)

just had a look on the official webby
