This upset me more then the video with Iraqi children being tormented. This almost made me cry. Dolphins are some of the smartest creatures on this planet. It has been proven they can communicate ideas (bottom), so do not claim they cannot.
This has been going on forever and hasn't changed despite international pressure and treaties. If you don't want to see the dolphins suffer, then don't watch a video on youtube that makes you click the "confirm" button to watch.
it's a crazy f'd up world we live in. yea, i like dolphins and yes i recognize they posses a degree of intelligence. but damn, with all the children dying of AIDS in Africa and other human atrocities...the dolphins will have to take a number to earn my sorrow.
Well, that is a cruel method.. But hey we don't treat pigs or cows much better. And boy how do we love our meat and pork!! Let's not be sanctimonious, please.
And let us not forget all of the plant life that is killed or brutalized by our quest for a well trimmed lawn on a weekly basis! Yes, I am making light of the OP. If you think that is bad go ride with a cop or hell come down here and ride with me on the border and see what people do to other people.
I shoot for the curve... anything above that is gravy.

Pigs are treated pretty decently here in Denmark(We are the biggest exporter of pig meat in the world, and the quality of danish pigs is pretty damn great, probaly the best in the world). Modern pig farms are getting quite advanced, includes more space for the pigs, as well as seperated areas for sick and violent pigs. When it comes to butchering, it's important not to stress the pig or make it scared - This will change the PH value of the meat, changing both the taste and the tenderness of it. Therefor, butcherhouses aims to make the whole process less stressing for the pig - This is why a pig is never seperated from the group of siblings it have been with, since day 1.
There is nothing brutal about the butchering of the pigs. They're led into an CO2 champer, where they will quickly pass out. Then it's just a matter of applying a quick stab to the throat, and it's dead within seconds - Without feeling a thing. Then the process of making it ready to be slaugthered starts(Will be dragged through very hot water, then through flames, then dusted off to remove all the hairs).
Denmark manage to breed good quality pigs because we got strict rules in this department - Sending a wounded pig to the butcherhouse, for example, will result in a 2000$ fine to the farmer. But ofcourse, EU is messing around with the rules(EU is generally bad, they strive to create an equal market in Europe, but as a result of this alot of our rules, specially when it comes to food and production of it, have been changed for the worse - This include allowed levels of damaging chemicals in food, transportation of animals and so on), so we'll see how the future turns out.
I'm under education as a butcher(Although i do not kill the pigs, nor do i work in a butchery house. I'm working in a store, where we're supplied half pigs whereafter i proceed to do the detail cuts), that's why i know some of this stuff.

That makes me want to cry. No animal should be killed like that. At least make it quick.
Poor Dolphins.
They're going to keep dying as long as people want to keep eating them. All this video did is pique my curiosity as to how dolphin meat tastes like
