Aye, many of us would like to see the original SWG back......I still have a teensy glimmer of hope that $OE's greed may allow them to open a classic server or two. Okay...may be it is more like a fantasy.

I want a new Star Wars game. I want better graphics, cooler animations, skill based system just like old school SWG, player cities just like old school SWG, Guild Houses, Guild and Faction Wars, set WAY before the original trilogy or WAY after the original Trilogy, furniture and an environment that you can interact with. It really bothers me that you can sit in chairs in like 90% of the new school MMOs.

I want the RPing potential that old school SWG had. I want musical instruments like old school SWG.

Basically, I want olds chool SWG with some upgraded graphics, and a different timeline. JtLS was awesome. I loved it.

+ Quest based XP with a sense of story and adventure and I'm sold.  I'll pay $20/month for this new Star Wars mmo.

Why do I write, create, fantasize, dream and daydream about other worlds? Because I hate what humanity does with this one.

BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.

Before Obraik even chimes in, then play the current incarnation of SWG.  I believe up to like level 30  or something it is Quest based XP.

Personally I want an MMORPG that just does away with XP and skills are bought with credits/gold and can be trained by players who already know the skills (though players should have a chance to fail in teaching and they could not teach that pupal that skill ever if they fail.)

--CCP could cut off an Eve player's fun bits, and that player would say that it was good CCP did that.

whenever I get bored of the grind (and I nearly always do) I just go and do some roleplaying on a forum i'm registered too or I go and play Elder Scrolls: Oblivion I'm just obsessed with that game at the moment even though I've had it for awhile now and not had a chance to properly dive into it. I wish quests were more like that, you actually felt like you were interacting with the world instead of just killing x monster to get x rat pelts, whoever thought of that kind of questing in the first place should get slapped around the face a few times in my opinion, I really can't stand those type of games anymore so I avoid games that say just "Dozens of quests" on the back of the box like the plague since all that really means is that they're going to be collect this get that item kind of quests mostly, best to look for ones which talk about Story Driven quests and such, means they'll be willing to go into more detail than being so vague.

Oh and on the $OE thing I totally agree, can't stand those arse wipes, I always check a game now for that tag wherever I look, don't trust them at all.

Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.

Same here. I cancelled all SOE accounts and will never return. Perhaps a strong statement to make....never say never and all that but I don't trust them with my time investment and monies spent ever since Nov 05.

They may have learnt their lesson...I've yet to see evidence of that. Just the same old spin over and over again.

    Doesn't really matter to me.

Server population is climbing, it seems like the devs finally have their heads out of their asses and they're finally listening to what people want.

Fair enough. If you are happy then more power to you. You might even be right, it might be turning into a good game eventually...but the skill based system was what I enjoyed most to be fair. When that went and it turned to level based play it took away something special. Then the NGE and you know the rest...

I wasn't just turned away by the lvl based system. I could have stomached the lvl based system if they had of had each and every profession to play as, didn't change the control scheme to that bastardized FPS crap, and didn't use those horriblely cheesey pictures and icons.

Seriously, there was nothing wrong with the interface, icons, and paper dolls. The paper dolls were 3D for christ's sake.

i do to, i want the game back it was. whether its a new SWG or a rollback, i don't care. I miss the way that game was. everything was an accomplishment. the community was tight and together. it was easy to know 70% of the server regardless of size because players made the game, players made the economy, you needed a weapon? you talked to weaponsmiths, armor? no problem, talk to your boy who has a shop outside of Coronet.

you wanna pvp? who's base we taken down? what guild we gonna trample over? *o crud, they got 50 defenders and 1 jedi!!!!! what are we gonna do!!!!?*

poison bombs, pikeman melee aoe dots. rifle head shots, BH eye shots. Dizzy KD 4TW!!!!!!. that was the game i loved. and no other MMO will ever amount to it.

now its just your typical root, snare, paper rock scissors carebear game. so simply designed even a 5th grader could have designed a more complex system. no hybrids, no diversity, pick a class, and thats what you are.

Devs dont have their heads completely out.Cause if they did they would redo it back to when the game was most popular. Not bastardizing a favorite profession and calling it new..They havent brought anything back as good as it once was ie auto targeting,Crafting..Name one thing they have fixed better than what it once was..So those of us that played creature handler get beast mastery...um...yeah let me know how that turns out...Its not gonna rejuventate the game nore raise populations. The same problems in beta are still present..No bug fixes No content and them changing things nobody wants..When the combat system is back and all the crafting and professions then they will have their heads outa their tushes so to speak..And we all know that wont happen..

The only real server population gains are due to the desperate transfers or rerolls from players abondoning the ghost servers.....so yeah, servers are seeing an increase at the expense of other servers. I don't count the folks that come back for only a month, or Noobs, that quickly cancel the game in disgust. Then there is station access players.....which may have SWG toons, but inactive none the less.

The content being placed in the game is essentially watered down content form earlier versions of SWG. The quests are linear and lock step....not like there are an array of choices of quests to level. So leveling is the same way and it becomes a mind numbing grind if you wish to level another toon, which you are forced to do to take part of the limited content in the game (PvP centric).
