I think that with the growing presence of desktop Linux, and the high level support that will be driven on this platform by more and more governments and bodies switching over to using it, we could soon see a sharp increase in the number of developers creating cross-platform game solutions.
With Open-GL and Open-AL, porting games to other platforms such as the Mac and Linux is reasonably easy. It takes more effort and time to code a game to take advantage of these possibilities, and the middle-ware to support large scale production is pretty much non-existent at this time, so most production companies currently considering this route have a high development overhead on this front.
However, this is a field of development which is growing fast, especially considering the number of Asian countries that are moving over to alternative software platforms and O/S's at a government level, and even some of the more traditional western countries too.

It's Appels own fault. They were "too good" for "normal" companies so they kept there architecture private and were only giving it's plans to the companies they saw as worthy. While on the other hand IBM (Intel) released there architecture to the public so every Joe could write programs for it. That is why PCs rules, and Apple looks good.
And who ever buys Mac for games anyways?
Every time I read your post, I die a little inside...

Not me... I weighed my options when I purchased my PC. I decided that choosing the machine which could run the majority of the software available on the market, and that I could upgrade myself increasing the longevity of my investment, would be the way to go.
Besides... Steve Jobs is a jerk. At least Bill Gates helps children learn to read.
you have got to hate macs when it comes to gaming.. upgrading them to keep up with the latest games is an impossible thing to do... youd have to buy a new mac completely.. which is a big joke.
And they are posting all these ads saying "buy a mac, its better than a PC" wtf! No its not, most PC's in homes now a rebuilt for gaming... and the enthusiasts population is growing.. MAcs arent just in that list...
why would developers want to waste time on a minority market like macs.
I'm still wondering why consumers waste their time with Macs.
I would love to give my money to someone else other than Microshaft, Apple or even better Linux, but until the games come it isnt going to happen. Or maybe if we give our money to someone else the games would come. Chicken or the egg.

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.
