RP content

in Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning

From what i've read I can't really tell what the RP content is going to be.

I know about the tiers.  We've seen the vid of the Dwarves vs Greenskins where they end on tier 4 in the mountians.



From that I'm assuming that the humans and Chaos and HEleves and Delves will have the same system.

What I wonder is,

a. Can characters travel to other realms? eg.  Dwarves go to human lands

b. Will there be other realms to go to that are open and not connected to the tiers?

c. Besides public quests will there be any sort of dungeons or instanced questing?

d. Other then the war will there be a story line or groupings of stories that can be completed?

E. Is anyone interested in the RP and questing side of MMORPGs anymore or are they just interested in PVP.

    You may of missed the newsletter or one of the numerous posts on this but right from the beginning they said there's methods of travel thatll take you to any of the other 'allied' lands of your race.  So you can fight on any allied race's tier but you get far more benefits fighting on your own race's tiers.   

     

    Alot of this stuff is really unknown that you've askeda bout.  They've mentioned some dungeon instances but its not a huge focus since obviously the game is all about WAR and the best spoils are from public quests and RVRing.   RP wise ... you're in a WAR...so...not sure how much of a huge story they can have written outside of that.   Its honestly PVP with a splash and flare of PVE enough so that you can take a break from bashing each other.  In the end you have to end up PVPing in the RVR areas.  As for inter connection of zones not related to your Teirs other than the above mention of transportation I have no clue.  

    More will to come to light when they start beta testing with folks outside of EA Mythic and the subsequent veil of secrecy is dropped close to the end of beta.

    D: There will very probably be quest storylines that can be completed. But they'll probably all be connected to the war.

    I'm sure there will be some RPing tools available, but to what extent we don't really know.  This isn't really a game aroundsitting around, drinking pints, and dancing.  It's about crushing your enemies into dust and burning their homes to the ground.

    A)  Yes, and you can do so quite early.  Mythic doesn't do the "you have to travel thier first by foot" type of fast travel.  You want your Dwarf to go kill some Dark Elves?  Head for the [insert mode of travel here].

    B)  No.  Everything is tied to the war in some way.  That's the point of the game.  While some of the areas in the tier are PvE, they're still about the war.  You probably won't see any "ancient evil dragon stirring up trouble to the south" type of content.

    C)  Yes, just not in any major way.  I think they mentioned somewhere that they're trying to avoid instancing when it comes to PvE content, only instancing boss incounters (instead of the whole dungeon).

    D)  Maybe on a small scale.  Nothing too major.

    E)  Hells yes, and there's plenty of that in most new MMOs.  WAR is a lttle more focused on RvR because... well, that's its primary draw.  RvR is why people are going to come to WAR to play.  If you just want questing and stories, you've LotRO, Vanguard (ha!), Chronicles of the Spellborn, etc.

    Well everyone's answered your questions already, but I'd like to say something about the way you wrote point E.

    I've seen a lot of people talk about RP and questing as direct opposites or exclusive of PvP. That's what I believe one of the draws of WAR is. RvR is an integral part of the world, as much as questing is, and there MAY be as much possibilities of RP in RvR as there are in PvE. Try not to think about one thing excluding the other... who knows, maybe you could find out it's more fun to RP while bashing "real" heads than running through a dungeon.
