i was quite surprised to check back into the forums and see a lot of unhappy players with regards to vanguard online.....then i started reading the posts.....the problem for many from what i can see is that the game is unfinished.....and also many players are getting banned left and right.  i mean how can a company do this...it's just a game right?

i can tell you that for me....when i'm online there are many happy players playing this game.  the community is very friendly.  i also notice and love the report system.  and yes it's true from what i can see....players are getting banned left and right....but it's the type of player that we don't want in the game anyway.  it's the type of player that belittles others in spatial chat....swearing and cussing....making sexual remarks....then poof....five or six players quietly reading send in a report.  what's great about the report is all one has to do is send it in and the game managers are able to simply read the text of the incident....then ban the moron who did it. 

now many players don't like this....because they think it's terrible that a player paying money should get banned for acting in a mannor that hurts the game....and believe me it does.  mature players don't want to have to listen to this crap....and with vanguard they dont....they just report and let the chat logs speak for themselves.  i think vanguard has done us players a huge favor...and it's a step i hope to see in the futur with other online games.  

.....of course these players need another place to act and post....so they hit the forums and post about how terribel the game is. 

from what i can see the game is just fine.  for one it's a complex game and yes perhaps it's not finished.  whoe cares...???  this is the problem people arne't getting.....comparing and unfinished vanguard to a finished WOW is pointless.....there's tons of crappy "finished" games out there to play.....but this game is trying to do take the experience to the next leve.   it's a tough go....however i'm happy they are trying instead of just taking another popular theme like "lord of the rings" and throwing out the same old game.

to be honest.....the problem for vanguard is probably money.....cause it takes cashola to take something like this project in a new direction....as opposed to putting out a clone of another game.

i think comparing this "unfinished game" to something like wow or starwars galaxies is like comparing apples to oranges....two different games for two different players....and if your one of those players that likes to get online.....start smashtalking everyone....exploit.....etc....then stick to the old games.....cause if you try that here you'll get banned.....if  you offend the community you'll get banned.....if you exploit you'll get banned.....however if you just enjoy the game....treat players with respect....you'll be fine. 

and as far as it being unfinished......i'm more than willing to give these vanguard boys and girls some time to work on their progect here.....

The problem is, is that these posts get made about 8 times every single day. Four people make a topic saying when you are playing it is fun and 4 people make a topic saying this game sucks. I wish it would all just be in one topic.

Everyone likes to step up on the soapbox every now and then and start a thread I guess. Its cool with me. I still read them even though I have read the same thing before. It just is what it is.

And comparing this game to WoW and other MMO's is not like comparing Apples to Oranges. Why?

Because get this, THEY'RE BOTH FANTASY MMORPG's. You're point about just because VG is not finished therefore it can't be judged is ludicrous. That would be a completely valid theory, if it was still in BETA. But, it's now released as a "complete title" to the world. And everyone bought it expecting a complete product. What they didn't receive is just that. And I also think it's hilarious that you think VG is "taking a step in a new direction". It's just another unfinished fantasy-themed hack and slash WoW clone, get over it.

Yeah, I read it correctly the first time. And I'd love to know how you think Vanguard is "taking things to the next level", when even the developers know this game is terribly made.

So please, enlighten us.

But didn't you really mean AO, EQ, LoTR(the books) clone/makeover or  influenced game (whatever) there?



Geez in the end it's a computer (PC) game not a console, does that mean that you can compare UO with Halflife? Duh, even though it is in the same genre you have to consider other things then just make to all the same thing.

It is still apples and oranges, and not.

I do not like vanguard not because of the state it is in but because it is simply the same as all of those eq/wow clones out there and boring. I tried to play it and gave up very soon. It was simply boring. Yes: BORING to the point that even playing with a new level 1 char made me cry. There are lots of possible explanations why people do not like vanguard. You though are trying to say that the posters who are posting negative feedback about the game are all immature, rude and ingame flamers. I guess thats what you expect from a fanboy.



Vanguard is nearly the same thing as EQ or WoW:



- fantasy mmorpg

- level based that needs grinding

- class based

- quest centered

- some sort of crafting system that requires grinding

- endgame = raids

- carebear pvp

Not only does your entire post not make any sense whatsoever, it had nothing to do with what you quoted from MY post. I said what VG is, never once did I say anything about console games, halflife, UO, or ANYTHING that you said in your post. So no, I DIDN'T  "really mean" something that I never even came close to MENTIONING let alone discussing. I never said "VG is a video game therefore it's just like everything else". YOU said I did. Why would you compare those I don't know, and why would you try and say I did that? Because it's blatantly obvious I never did.
