CHALLENGE: Medieval Armour Buffs. How well do you know your armour?



If you were trying to make historically accurate armour  types for a MMORPG how would you list it from weakest to strongest?



Example: Cloth, Thick Cloth, Leather, Ringed Leather, Brigandine, Lamellar, Splint, Partial Plate, Full Plate....

    What about scale and segmented?

    I do not think that scale and segmented armor really counts does it? Because most MMORPG games just call it somthing diffrent I did not add it because I do not feel it has earned a real place  in the official armor list.

    Historically, it all depends on what you are up against, there is no "strongest". For example, chainmail is quite effective in cushioning most attacks, but even cloth provides more defense against a poniard.

    Hmm. My list would look like:



    1. None

    2. Cloth

    3.Cloth(padded)

    4.Leather

    5. Leather(padded)

    6.Leather(Hardened)

    7.Scale

    8. Chain

    9.Splint

    10. Half plate

    11.Full Plate

    Well  I guess we all have diffrent points of views but do you really think halfmail would be ranked under full plate?
