don't listen to the haters. many people of this type keep coming back to vg forums even after they quit, because for some reasons, they have nothing better to do than to spread negative and false information on what is otherwise a great game.
The reason people pick on Vanguard is because people like you try to convince people to just buy the game without trying it first. Try to get a trial key before you play it and save the money. If you turn around and like it, buy it. If you find out it is not for you, then you saved money.
Well i wasn't going to say anything but there goes that idea. I am not going to say anything bad in thou i don't play the game anymore. It is not really that hard to find parties to me but i guess that also depends on your sever to. the game is worth checking out for your self atleast that way you will have a better idea about that game.

I played the trial when it came out and i sorta liked it as much as possible during the first grinding levels, but there was no one there to play with. So my question would be if i bought the game now and wanted to play with some random person my level would it take like 10 min to find a party or group or 3 hrs and then 30 min of fighting then quitting like on Final fantasy 11.
If that was your major issue.. then your problem will only be worse now. The server populations are steadily decreasing, so unless you get into a guild that has a bunch of active people your level.. you'll always have that problem.
Yukkione has lost touch with reality - think of it as digital beer goggles Bugs are there an in plenty - people still login dead, levels and exp are still lost/rolled back. Some quests still cannot be completed. Getting in groups will take you anywhere from 2 minutes to 12 hours simply depends on if your class is one of key 4 or mere hybrid.
If your the kind of player who only gets PUGs, then yea, you're class may be discriminated against because the people forming the group are being picky. But I can tell you that if it's a guild group, it doesn’t matter. It's playing together that's the key. As to the problems you mention... Yes those things do happen occasionally to some people. I play daily and have not had any of those. In my guild of nearly 300 individuals there have only bee a handful if incidences. Most were also resolved. There are some quests that are still broken, mostly higher level ones, but not many. And it's easy to ask if the one you're doing is among them. I don’t fault Sigil much for this because the game literally has thousands of quests that work as intended. I would never claim VG is perfect. But for me and thousands of others it's the best MMO with the most potential out there.
Finding a group is a big hassle in VG. More times then not you'll waste a lot of time trying to find one. A server like Florendyl is terrible at community relations, even trying to find a decent guild is a problem. The fact the game has a "LFG" tag means nothing. For the most part I would leave missions that read "group" unless I was able to pull it off solo which I did on a few ocassions.
I think people would rather solo anyway but in VG thats not always the case. You waste time asking for groups in general chat.

- The biggest issue with trying to find a group is the reluctance to form your own group. This is one of the problems is everyone trying to piggyback off of a group already made when they can make the group themselves. (That is being said aside from the issues where you cannot form a group at all due to distance, level disparity, or lack of balance.)
- The next biggest issue is trying to round out the group in a decent manner. Depending on server and time there may be a shortage of healer, tank or dps.
- The saddest thing about finding players flagged LFG is when you notice they are on another continent. People rarely want to travel 10 - 15 minutes to get to a team that they may not play long with, on a continent they are not familiar with, with no idea of where to start questing.
The Biggest problem I've had with the game is if I go thru 3-4 chunks trying to get from one side of the map to the other my computer will crash. Also when transporting to another spot its 50/50 if my computer crashes... Something they need to fix ASAP... Now if I stay in one area or only cross one or two chunks then I'm ok... But anything more and its back to the desktop...
I also notice when I first log on or enter a new city its lag city for 20-30 seconds then it smooths out...
Last week i replaced my single Western Digital Hard Drive for two 10k RPM Western Digital Raptor drives and raided them togeather for performance. I have to say its been a HUGE improvement with regards to lag issues and performance... I still get the occasional lag or stutter but it only lasts for 4-5 seconds instead of 20-30 seconeds.... I highly recommend to anyone that wants a speed improvement to setup a raid drive for there system. I think a lot of the lag problems people experience is the program trying to load all the textures and content from the Hard Drive when they enter a new area.
The new 10k rpm Raptors drives are awesome, they are no louder then my single drive and they come with a 3 year warranty, where as almost all the other drives are only 1 year... IMO its worth the money to buy them...

I would say a game that was released as fish food to the not to distant future mmo's is not worth paying a subscription for.
Call me a troll all you want, VSoH is fish food. Future mmo's are the fish.
Currently Playing: Everything but MMORPGs
Cancelled: L2, FFXI, VSoH, LotRO, WAR, WoW
