    Huh? EQ2 has player housing.
    Unlike SWG the housing is instanced in different parts of the city depending on the size of the house you can afford and would like to live in.
    At first I thought that would be a terrible idea, but after seeing all the empty houses left by players long gone littering every square millimeter of SWG, i have come to realise that instanced housing is the best way to go without ruining the look and feel of the game world itself.

    Plenty of options for player housing.  I have a 5 room house which has plenty of room which is good as i have accumulated a lot of house items.

    As far as shapeshifting, i think the Shaman classes can do this.  Wardens & Mystics i know for sure can shapeshift.  But apart from class spells any class can actually shapeshift.  I have a fluff spell that turns me into a bear.  Also i have numerous items which lets me transform into the following, Vampire, Droag (winged Lizard), Gnoll, Troll, Ogre, Froglok, Dark Elf, Half Elf, High Elf, Gnome, Dwarf, Halfling, Wood Elf, Iksar, Human, Erudite, Kerran, Ratongan.  And im  Berserker BTW.

    Nasdoo;

    I'm just returning to EQ2 and have levelled several characters into their mid teens to test them out. Other people have dealt with the housing, so i will deal with the shapeshifting.

    The primary class that can shapeshift is the druid. This includes both the fury and the warden. The shapeshifting is achieved by putting one point into the appropriate AA at level 10 ish.
    What the druid is carrying for a weapon determines what they shapeshift into. Example carrying a sword, the druid turns into a tiger and receives a special melee attack. Carrying a 1 handed crush weapon and shield, the druid turns into a tree. I believe the tree gets some type of offensive spell bonus. These are not the only forms a druid can shift into, their are others, but the lowest can be achieved at 10 ish.

    Finally enchanters (illusionist and coercer) are able to shift into various racial types, but this is not until level 20 or later. My understanding is that they are forms that are suited to your city. So for example, an illusionist who is on the qeynos side will get only those races that are allied to the qeynos side (human dwarf etc). This makes them basically useless and more of a fun spell.

    Can anyone add to this post regarding other classes that can shape shift?

    There are mini 'collection' quests where you pick up or 'harvest' an item off the ground, when you collect the set, you turn it in for a reward. Some of the rewards are shape shifting rewards, one for each race, drakota (liiks like a dragon man w wings), vampire (you get through an adventure pack, quest series) and other. Some classes get 'fun spells or abilities that allow then to change into different animal/ creature forms, and a tradeskilling class (woodworker) makes totems that turn you into a creature or animal while giving you a buff, as well.

    There are alot of shape shifting mechanisms in eq2.
