If players can not pvp with their end game toons, what will be the incentive to play that toon? Raid large monster and kill them a little faster with better gear? Since we got monster play I won't be using my gear on my main toon. Anyone know or have any clues as to what the end game will be?

I don't understand.. we can pvp with our 'endgame toons', and gear will be helpful here.
I'm missing the point I think, can you restate it for me?
In America I have bad teeth. If I lived in England my teeth would be perfect.

I think you play the monster not your main toon correct? So if you have a lvl 50 hunter, when you go into monster play, which is the main way to PVP you don't get to fight with your hunter.Saw this on another forum. Turbine Devs have already said in interviews that they will start releasing plans for free and paid content additions after release. Here is a map of Middle Earth and the red tinted area is roughly what is in release. I think they have a fair sized area yet to expand the game into.

You can fight with your hunter at 50.. your monsters are seperate and unlocked at lvl 10.. I thought you played beta.. weren't you on about RPers annoying everyone.. if you were in it you would know this.
EDIT: You can actually fight with your hunter at 40.. I think thats the level you can ride into Ettenmoors at. You will be fighting creatures of evil, the monsters created and played by other players.
I think all he is asking is , yes, when you do hit top level, is there anything in the game to keep you playing?
Many MMORPG's out there have a very limited endgame to it. Hit max level and then do the special quests in groups over and over again until you get the great loot to be able to kill better and faster when you do the same quest again with another group.
Are there things to do besides just quests to level up. Such as guild stuff, tools to provide player intrigue. Is dropped loot better than crafted loot? Is there a reason for someone to run a business as a crafter and be happy doing so? Or is everyone able to craft their own stuff.
I'm looking at getting this game myself, but with the disappointment of so many games out there, I fear this may be another let-down. I hope not...I will definitely give it a chance.

Sorry i don't have a link but, i read somewhere they plan on having
PVMP ( monster play which is in game now )
2-3 fellowship instances ( end game level )
and 1 24 person raid instance
I assume these are not in game, but will come shortly after release.
I am looking forward to monster play ( or keeling monster players ) when i am high enough. Wil be alot of fun.

At level 50 there will be 24 man raids.
You need a party of 6 at level 50 just to get around the end-game zones without being killed.
The mobs a mean, numerous and tightly grouped all within choke points that you can NOT avoid.

Pre, don't succumb to misinformation. Today, a company is damned if they add raids in for the sole purpose of those who want to do them can do them. Notice that the people who say such never link anything where a dev has stated the only end game is raids. That's because if they did, it would read that raids are only in for those who want to do them, and they they fully intend to add plenty of single fellowship quests, as well as the live events they have planned. Everyone fears that the best gear will only be from raids. The devs have stated that you can get equivalent "uberness" gear from regular grouping, player crafting and a very small chance soloing.
It's a shame that your fellow gamers, who profess to be looking out for you, give you the wrong information. Head over to the source to get your facts. Then you can sit back and laugh at the chicken little hysteria that goes on elsewhere.

Absolutely not! As LOTRO moves forward in development, we've taken a very hard, long look at endgame content. One of the many proven-successful elements that we came up with was raids. This will be a very important dynamic for kinships and players who enjoy grouping.
We recognize that different segments of the gaming population like different styles of gaming. Solo play, being one of those primary styles, is still very much alive and well. We're not attempting to replace solo play with raids and other group content. We are simply increasing your options, augmenting our previously announced plans with a whole new facet. Players who prefer not to raid will not have to do so. We feel that it's important to have endgame content that reflects the players' many different play styles.

Dropped loot is not better than what a high level crafter can make.
Making a business? Depends on what your goals are. To be a high-end crafter, you'll a 50 with little need of money, unless you need it for crafting mats.
To craft high-end items you'll need rare drops and resources to complete the items. Some of these things will require you to buy them from others or go into the high-end zones or even the PvP area. In both cases, its easy for a solo 50 to DIE.

You are correct with a catch. The best items in the game are player crafted items. The best player crafted items require you to kill certain signature named mobs for recipe components . The items made from these recipes are actually harder to obtain than just doing a quest or getting a rare item drop. And on top of that once you create a signature item the recipe is gone from your crafting journal and you need to go farm the recipe scroll again along with the required drop.
I havent confirmed this but it is very likely the best recipe scrolls in the game are rare drops off the most elite creatures the game offers.
I maxed out my weaponsmithing in beta 2 and the items I crafted were superior to dropped items.
