I've read dozens of posts about whats 'wrong' with game, and have come across quite a few of your posts telling us to buy it (good to see you're recommending begging for buddy keys too now), but don't think I've seen any posts of what it is that has you so addicted...besides the usual troll cries of you being "VANBOI!!1!" and "Viral marketing!!!1"
I jumped on the 3-wheeled band-wagon that was SWG when it first came out, so am very cautious about joining up to another MMO so soon after its released.
ok thanks bye.

Here is the deal. If you go into the game knowing what to expect instead of just going off of hype and what other people say and believe, rather than facts, you game will do you no harm. The people that do not like the game usually either couldn't run the game because of optimization issues with the way they made it, or they believed all the Vanguard player hype.
If you read some the the developer quotes it will be okay and those quotes are true. Brad himself stated that the game was released far too early because they could not get more funding for the game. Knowing this you have to understand that there will be your fair share of bugs. Sometimes you may log in dead, sometimes you get stuck in the world, sometimes group loot gets broken and it will not let anybody loot good items.
At the same time the world is huge and you have many choices to play as when it comes to race and class. If you try to get involved and more in depth the game will let you, but if you are a power gamer and like to grind mobs to hit level cap it will not be all that fun because at the level cap there is current content that is missing. Brad will admit to this himself. They are working hard to fix things and the game has already come a long way from where it was on day 2 of the launch.
Do not just go and outright buy the game, do not blow it off either. Ask around on all the forums you can find that talk about Vanguard and see if somebody will let you have thier 10 day buddy key.
This is the best advice anybody can give you when it comes to playing Vanguard. Take it for what it is worth but truly try to get a buddy key before you make a choice.
I like pie !
If you're going to rely on viral marketing to promote the game, please remind your employees that subtlety is a virtue. Spamming the forums with dozens of posts of blinded, completely unrealistic bullshit that even the fans of the game know isn't true doesn't do your game any favors.
Just a friendly reminder,
Me
To anyone reading this thread who might be interested in trying Vanguard, please ignore the obvious shill job that the original poster is trying to pull. If you're interested in the game, find a trial key, play it free for 10 days, THEN decide if it's worth your time and money. Don't listen to posts like this one, and don't buy Vanguard blindly. Give VG a test run before you spend a single dime on it, because player experiences have proven to be wildly different, and the only way to really know if it's worth it for you is to give it a test run for free first.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
Exactly.
ROFL.
I just do not approve of these tactics, particularly the censorship (as a victim of it).
I really think this community needs to send a message that this behavior is not acceptable, at least the censorship aspects of it on TTH, IGN, efforts on WIKIPEDIA, et al. Otherwise, I think this deception is a very dangerous road that undermines the authenticity and effectiveness of these gaming forums. Simply put, it will become difficult to determine who is and who is not a shill. Further, posts with content critical of Vanguard has been edited, moved, and removed - and worst of all people have been banned for their comments on a number of forum web pages (not this one).
I admire this community for rejecting this blatant, obvious and insulting (to the intelligence) marketing.
That is the most hilarious thing I have read to date on these forums. LOL LOL LOL.
Actually, I don't think it is. I know Sigil is/was broke, but unless they hired a drunk, and insane homeless guy to do their viral marketing, this is:
A)Just some random fanboy that is unbelievably stupid.
B)Some troll playing off the fact that people think anything remotely positive said about VG is some sort of hired poster conspiracy. At this point, I can no longer tell which side of this asinine argument is stupider, those that dislike the game that see a conspiracy in every post, or those that like the game that see no wrong anywhere.
I was skeptical at first until I reviewed the shill's previous posts, which were even written in code in certain areas such as "bai."
It is pathetic.
The pathetic part is that everyone just bought it hook line and sinker, never stopping for even a second to consider how over the top, and blatantly obvious it was.
Face it. You've. Been. Trolled.
Naive indeed.
I truly don't get it, that guy Hero is abviously over excited, and most of the responses take this type of person serious, its like those people that heard others say in Vanguard "go back to WOW" and now they think all Vanguard players are like that, where did common sence lose its grip, can't people see thru this type of topics anymore, do they really see this type of thing as viral marketing or even anti-viral marketing.
Normal commen sense would just laugh about the way Hero goes about the game, let the guy enjoy his game. We all know Vanguard has some isseus that seem to effect not everyone, especialy when you see how populated the realm seemed to be like last night its hard to imagine the game is doing bad. And you see most of the people in the game are aware there are things that really needs to be fixed but somehow i never run into someone who'm i thought hey thats a teen-ager (nothing wrong with that ) but most people i meet ingame are very mature, healty discussions in chat, fun in chat, very helpfull, but please keep in mind this can vary from realm to realm, i play on the Euro realms.
I wonder do people consider what 17+GB of gamedata could do on ones hard-drive(because they already have played so many mmorpg that size?????), they seem to be totaly unaware of the actual size of the game (no mmorpg ever has developed this kind of size) which with some common sence would explain why some people have more trouble/bugs then others. Yes Wow was build to take advantage of all kinds of systems but will it stay strong for the future, Vanguard is build for the future (don't say the 8series or highend don't work right yet so why would that in the future) simple look at the past of nvidia/ati card drivers and look at the possibility's that Vanguard has and is going to over.I find it hard to believe that no one on this forum has played a game years ago that did not work on their system, but when they had the right system for that game or drivers user/client side been updated that the game would be very cool afterall. Don't some people consider that this can be so with Vanguard you have to be patient and look beyond yesterday
Another thing i keep reading and reading that it is hard to FIND groups, but i fail to read that people try themselfs to creat a group, again last night needed a group began to make one and about 15 minures we were on our way to the Gluch (or what the name was again:P )
Consider destroying download limit on 6 gig 'demo'
Take a gamble, go out and buy it.
Install it, after clearing 17 gigs.
Try to play it, patch it.
Patched. Try to play it.
Server down.
Watch movie, come back. Try to play it.
New patch, download.
Go back to movie.
Try to play it. Success.
Play it.
Crash.
Try to love it. Fail
Uninstall it. Put it away 'until its done'.
Cancel account.
Fail.
Try again.
Fail.
Try to cancel account while dancing around chanting,
Success.
ICE-BERG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just my Opinion
who me ?
Yes, by you.
However, never again.
You. Have. Been. Ignored.
Edit: I was actually going to ignore you when you made that comment that "freedom of speech does not exist" in a different forum. It absolutely exists; it is a constitutionally protected "right." It is an "abstract" idea, which does not mean it does not exist. LOL. It exists within certain parameters such as Justice Holmes' "fire in a movie theatre" example or obscenity. Yes. Freedom of Speech exists, maybe not in your world. More to the point, your freedom of speech does not exist in my world.
Yes, this game has its flaws and was released far too early but I would like to know where you got your statistics from and also would like to ask if you played SWG? Also you show a lack of historical knowledge considering that the Titanic thrived for some time and brought in a ton of money. It was considered by many the best ship and people thought there would never be anything crafted bigger or more massive than that.
Vanguard never ran perfectly. Vanguard never made it out to sea to hit that huge chunk of ice, it had holes in the side and it is having a troublesome time trying to leave the port.
The OP is either very clever or very very slow IMO. If he geniunely is a fan of VG then he is doing the game no favours by this 'Bleitzrieg' posting campaign he's on - but my guess is he actually hates the game, and is playing off the whole 'elitist Vanboi' angle to make neutral observers even more repulsed by the VG community.
who me ?
Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
I did like the "I'm ignoring you, neiner, neiner, neiner" spiel at the beginning. It made me giggle in real life.
