What does everyone think of DR?

I think it's an OK game to keep on my Hard Drive, but I'll probably never play it seriously. It's too simple really. I'm low lvl right now, mainly because the community rocks and I chat too much, but even still it doesn't really seem that dynamic. But, I think it's good for what it is.

I'm "Stoke" if you see me ingame, btw. :)

I thought it was really good for players who dont have a lot of money or a great system and dont want to do a ton of waiting in their games.  Also its good for those who dont like the whole auto attack thing and prefer the hack and slash diablo feel, which includes me!  I think I could probably have a lot of fun with DR, as it reminds me so much of Diablo 2.

Its easy to say that because its sorta a cheapy game that it is made for casual gamers, but I think it will attract a lot of hardcore gamers too who like to just lay around and do solo runs for items (like good ol' Diablo 2).

DR is by no means like traditional mmos though and it would be silly to compare it to WoW, EQ2, EVE, ect ect.  Maybe you can compare it to some of the other free to play/subscription games though, that would be much more fair.  NCSoft is hoping to fill a niche and make some cash without a huge initial investment and I think they are probably gonna do pretty well with their little hack n slash mmo.

I stopped playing it though after I started feeling an addiction coming on.  It was one of those decisions that I knew I would have to make least I be sucked into another mmorpg that, in the end, I am angry that I spent so much time with.

Oh, I don't even think it's an MMO. It really feels like a Multiplayer game with a chatroom. I mean, the towns are small and aren't ment to be lingered around in.

I agree that the game will do pretty well though. It's pretty good for some mindless fun.

tbh i bloody love it! its a fantastic game - you gotta take it for what it is though, and thats a simple fun CASUAL mmo. its not designed to be played 40 hours a week nor was it made for serious gaming, its just good fun and thats something MMO's quiet seriously need.

Yeah, that's exactly how I feel. Kinda like GW was till they added 50 expansions and killed the game. :)
