The really quick simple answer is no.   DDO is an online action rpg game. If you do not like the questing and combat this is not the game for you.

    Nope, that's about it.

ddo is basicaly grouping and questing.

you have some quests were you can do loot runs, it means that you can enter the quest and the the itens from a certain chest without finishing the quest. you can solo some loot runs

I thought they added PvP? Also weren't there plans for crafing too?

yes, there is PvP, tryed once and that was it, I fell that classes and races are very unbalenced, but it's like real D&D, I wouldn't expect a caster to win a tank, unless the caster has some realy uber spell to kill the tank, oh and most spells don't work in PvP...

crafting? dunno, I don't realy spent to much time in foruns to know about it

actually when i used to play, my lvl 1 cleric beat a lvl 12 rogue using command and nimbus. How screwed up is that?

lol, that means that the cleric had a low will save, or he was unlucky to roll a 1

There are 3 types of pvp, tavern brawl, capture the flag and deathmatch. All arcane spells can be cast in ctf and dm, whilst some are restricted in the tavern brawl, mainly aoe effects. Though, some spells such as blind will soon be able to be cast in the tavern brawl also.

Forgot to answer your crafting question, yes it is on it's way, can't give you timescales though I'm afraid.

You must not leave until you free Arlos and have gathered your party safely in this hallway.

PvP in DDO is meaningless & usually only partcipated in by the pre-adolescent crowd

there is really only one reason to play DDO & that is to join a group & enter an instanced quest
