None at the moment. If you buy the game it comes with a free trial card for a friend. I have read that it is the ORIGINAL FFXI with 0 expansions, not even the one that came out in america. If I am wrong please correct me though
Sadly, no free trial. If it makes you feel any better, this game is the best mmorpg I have ever played, and is unlike most. You'll understand why a lot of people spam "WoW clone" about some games after playing this, and see how games can be a bit different from the norm, and still be great.
It's a console mmo first, an a pc second, unfortunately.
I couldn't disagree more. I don't understand how it can be easier to handle the macro sets on a console than a pc. If you don't have a keyboard for the console (PS2 or 360), then I bet you're screw'd..

The game was made with the PS2 in mind. They always wanted it to be on PS2 and most people that play it on PS2 (not sure about 360) end up getting an add-on USB keyboard...at least I did. I played it on console first and never found it difficult to play with the controller. In fact, the only reason I had the keyboard was to chat with people. When I was out in the world I pretty much just had the controller in my hand and keyboard beside me.

The first cross-platform, cross-continent massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), FINAL FANTASY XI allows gamers to connect to the same exact world regardless of whether they are playing on a personal computer (PC) or PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system and whether they are playing in North America or Japan.
Sure, it was first released on PS2, in Japan, May 2002. But if you check around a bit, you'll find several press releases both before and after launch, where they talk about "cross-platform" etc. So it was not like "they always wanted it to be on PS2" only.

Only way you're going to get your free trial is if you buy the game, which will give you the first month free.
It's a console mmo first, an a pc second, unfortunately. Difficult to do free trials for a console-based game.

What I underlined is not correct.
Here's just 1 example, from a press release, found at SE's US site at http://www.square-enix.com/na/company/press/2003/06102003-02/
