For those folks who did not make it over to the LOTRO forums and/or missed the memo :
Landroval has been selected by the playerbase as the unofficial RP Server.
Just FYI

Ah... I must have missed that. Darn... I made my character on Brandywine.
By the way, one thing that I did notice was that character name had to follow certain rules? When I typed in a normal name in the character selection screen, a message popped up saying that the name was jibberish and must be renamed. Apparently, based on your race and your starting origin, the name must either start with some set of letters or end with some set of letters.
I could be wrong, but that was the impression I got. Which is fine with me. I feel it is much better than seeing names that are unbearable to look at.
yup
and chat is full of OOC messages - lordy - what's the point
Why Turbine didn't do that is really really weird.
Not having roleplaying servers in one of the best roleplayingworlds is a big mystery.

Are you saying that the OOC channel is full of OOC chat? Because I've been playing on Landroval and that's about the only place I see lots of OOC chatting, which is exactly what that channel is for. By the way, I suggest filtering the channel out. It's the first thing I do when I start a new character because I have no interest in seeing players get into petty arguments and what not. My experience with interacting with individuals I meet face to face is usually far more enjoyable.
By the way, I didn't know that Landroval was picked as the unofficial RP server. That's great news. I rolled on the server because at the time it was at the bottom of the list so I assumed it had the lowest population.
