Cannot see the videos from the pre order disc?

in Lord of the Rings Online

So I hear im not the only one and people can watch them off the free download, so it seems to me its either low resolution client with movies or high resolution wih no movies, sigh this is messed up there has to be a way around this is there maybe?

    Many of our players are missing the in-game movies which can be viewed at character creation, when transitioning from the newbie areas to the persistent world, and so on.



    If you don't currently have the movies, you can now download and install them. If you're not sure whether you already have them, a simple test is to click on "Play Movie" in character creation - if nothing happens, you don't have them. The download is approximately 500Mb.

    Well, at least they know about it and are working on it.

    Just downloaded the cinematics and installed them.  I tested the movie at the character creation screen and it worked great, seems Turbine is quick to respond.  Thank you for the link.

    This is the nicest looking MMORPG I've ever played.  It is quite simply gorgeous.  Reflections of the sky and surroundings on the water, seeing a bowstring being pulled back and released, they have put a substantial amount of effort into the details.  I know this has nothing to do with the subject of this post but, it's just so beautifully done.

    Fixed it :)

    Here's what i did in case anyone else has this issue.

    I am running Vista Home Premium. I had to run this .exe under "compatibility mode, XP SP2" and it installed flawlessly and the movies look great :)
