Ive seen discs in local shops for LOTR Rpg but it sells for 1.99 what is strange.
If that disc what was getting sold in the shops is the game disc will it be monthly free or is it just a demo?

Game stores do that to unreleased games all the time, they just slap on a ridiculous price (usually something like $.99) just so they can put a label there telling you. The game hasn't been released yet so obviously that price is incorrect. It is going to cost $50 and $15 a month just like every other real MMO.
What you saw was a pre-release store display. Nothing more.
Check the title of that game., it might not be Lord of the Rings Online.
