Faction Balance Nightmare?

I have been following the development of FE for awhile now. One nagging concern of mine is balance among the factions. By the way things are looking, there are at least a couple of factions who are going to be a bit light on members. One faction seems to be swallowing the most interest, mine too.



Has anyone heard if this will be an issue in the game? One of the main things I like about this game is the diversity of the many factions. It would be terrible to come into the game and see most everyone playing on the Vista side.  I know each faction has 2 allies but really how much will that matter when someone like CHOTA is constantly outnumbered?



I came from an MMORPG which had PvP Factions like this, 3 of them. 1 of the sides was always severely underpopulated, the game company tries to help that side, goes too far and then it  causes one of the other 2 to become the runt. That geme didnt even have neutrals like FE, how the heck will that factor in!?



I hope this all  works out in FE.

Obviously there's not much developers can do to help this. My only thoughts are that if a faction tends to be less dominated, members will eventually flock to that faction. Remember players won't get the direct benefit of that faction until they can get the same skills from 'third party' trainers.



I'm not too worried about the unbalance, if there is any. There will be an equilibrium, once everyone discovers that it's no fun having a whipping boy forever.

It will be very hard to do anything that would keep a good balance of power between factions without making players mad.  I mean they could have factions limit recruitment or give weaker factions some sort of advantage but this would obviously piss players off.  I mean if your playing the game you should havre the choice to join any faction that you want and all players should play on a level playing field.  it will be interesting to see if anything is implemented into this game to help balance out all the factions.

If one faction is dominating all the others I am sure all the other faction members would form an un-official alliance and together they would easily defeat the faction which is full of members.
