LOTRO - Whats the deal?

Hey, I was part of the "closed" beta that ended a few weeks ago, enjoyed myself, sorta, but wasn't hooked, most probably because my PC could hardly run it. Now I got my new PC, I want to try it again, but I don't get this whole preorder thing.

I live in EU if that makes a difference, I'm willing to dish out $5-10 or whatever it is. I heard from a different post I can download the client from fileplanet, is this the high-ress or low-ress? Is this offer open to EU players? If it is, where do I got to make an account?

You have two options.  Codemasters is the official EU distributor for LOTRO.  You will play with mostly EU people with the codemasters client.  Or you can get the US version of the client and play LOTRO with the rest of the world.

If you pre-order you can get the founders promotion (highly reccomended if you plan on playing).  The founders promotion allows you to select between paying $199 for a lifetime subscription to LotRO or a permanent $9.99 monthly fee(reccomended).  Otherwise you can buy a LotRO box after release and pay $15 a month.

There is a high rez client.  I know nothing about it.

Ok thanks alot. Ill prob go for the pre-order option.
Does the pre-order option apply for both EU and USA? And if I do that, can I begin playing right away?

Does anyone else know about low/high ress clients? Do any of the pre-order downloads come with it? Is there anywhere I can download that client?
    Thx in advance

Act fast!  I do not know how much longer the founders deal is available.

The exciting Founder Member Program is available for a limited time until April 23rd, 2007, at 11:59pm BST, just before the commercial launch of The Lord of the Rings Online™.

Just got my EU version in the mailbox and got everything installed. I'm assuming european pre-orders can't start yet since it says 10 days before official opening, which makes it the 14th for pre-orders.
