LOTRO is a great game

After slating this game a couple of days ago I have now changed my mind, I think this game is great and the more you play it the more addictive it becomes. Yes, it does have cartoon-like graphics, but the gameplay and storyline make up for it. In fact while playing the game you tend to forget about the graphics as you get stuck into the next quest. Crafting is a joy as well, when compared to Vanguards over-complex crafting, you actually enjoy crafting in this game. Do I think Conan and Gods&Heroes will be better, yes. Do I think this game is worth buying/playing while we wait for the others to come out, Definitely.

Vanguard was the first crafting system that was complex enough to enjoy. I'm sorry it was too complex for you. If you like dumbed down crafting like in this game , thats fine. But some of us are tired of them dumbing down games.

You cant compare Vanguard crafting to LotR. In Vanguard, its supposed (and getting to the point) to be a wholly different, adventuring-independant sphere with its own equipment etc. As such, it cant really be the WoW/EQ1 style quick-and-dirty crafting that LotR is. In LotR, crafting is heavily tied to your characters level, and something thats just a bit of added flair. So a complex system wouldnt be very sensible cause a player isnt supposed to primarily craft.
