How do i get a Rank Name in WoW, Like Grand Marshal Alex

Blizzard changed the PvP system when TBC hit, you no longer earn rank titles, ppl with titles earned them b4 the change and can chose to display them or not on the character screen (ingame).

 Yep, they changed in just before BC. Kinda ticked me off.. I will never get that GM title now

They say there is going to be some new type of title system in the future don't know if thats going to happen anytime soon.

I have not seen anything about this, but i guess it could be true, why else would blizzard bother to allow us to select what rank(s) we achieved in the passed, so I can see blizz expanding this, kinda like LOTRO, where you earn titles for achievments, like 1000 PvP kills, maybe the first person to craft a rare item etc.

Im sorry but I cannot recall where I saw this but it was a Q&A and Devs stated they had plans to use a ranking system in the near future.

Blizzard also said there would be Hero Classes, sooo I wouldn't hold my breath as to how long titles take to work in.

Plus the old honor system was better, not perfect, but better than what it is now.  Current one makes rep pointless among other things.

No? I think it was thought of for pretty long. It was on the horizon all the way to patch 1.11 or something. I myself remember the times when me and my friends used to talk about how the Hero Classes would be. The Hero Classes were thought of for pretty long, but in the end they decided not to have them in the game.

As I recall, the best arena teams will recieve titles, ranging from something like gladiator to something else. That is the only way left to get a title that I know of, besides opening the AQ gates, which is rather hard to do, as most servers have them open. Wait for a new server, then level your ass off to 60 then hope you open the gates first. Fun stuff! So yeah. Best arena teams get titles. After like...a season. Gl getting that. I'm told that you have to be the best on your server to get the title. Bout three teams get it a season. But as I have no links to back this up...all I can say is comb the WoW websites areas regarding the arena pvp. Should tell you what you want to know.

Yap, i read that too somewhere in the general forums when they take away the old ranking system, that they are planing a new rank sys. And all those players that earn the Gm etc rank plead to Blizz not to give the new players same rank name...

Orc vs gnome equals greater ranking in the horde same with the aliiance

Before WoW was released they said that they didn't have a steep leveling curve so people could get to 60 for the "meaningful pvp" and "begin working on their Hero Class".  Well the honor system didn't go into effect until several months later and Hero Classes are all but forgotten.  They pretty much been pushed on the back burner as Blizzard apparently doesn't want to deal with having to make a new class and balancing it.
