    Lol - just don't inhale!

    Seriously though, some people really seem fanatical about supporting this game but they have to realize it's hard to take their posts seriously when I read posts from the developers that are saying things  like they know they made mistakes and they're working to fix them.

    Saying this game is the greatest thing in the universe doesn't really seem that believable when the developers are busy assuring people that they're fixing the game.   The fanatical support is no doubt due to the backlash the game has gotten, but you can't blame all of negative reponses on just Vanguard-haters.   I've seen far more reasonable, well-written posts describing the problems of the game and I'm more likely to listen to those than any post saying the game is either total garbage or 100% perfect.

    When we start seeing more reasonable, well-written posts stating the problems have been fixed, then perhaps the backlash will start dying out as well.

    I love your Dream, and I'm stuck in it. There is only one problem...no-one else is sharing this dream. I need a dream with-in a dream. That dream being someone else to group with. A mass influx of peoples willing to populate the world of Telon. Sadly I fear this dream will be a long time coming, however it will come nonetheless. Time is a great healer, and patience is a virtue. Together these can unite the players of Vanguard (both past and present) and form the formidable Saga of Heroes.....the MMO of the year......the fantasy....the joy..... the pleasure....the Dream!

    blackmaiden,

    as long as there is someone like you, there is proof that there are people that love the game for what it is and it makes me even happier that someone shares this dream of mine.. thx for posting.

    as for the rest of the garbage, yeah keep on trolling and make a fool out of yourselves.  it's funny how your kind of people always try to jump in at the first moment there is some positive post about this game to ruin it and turn it into a flame war.  nice.

    Every single one of your posts has brought it on yourself. Claims of this is the greatest game ever when the developers state as a fact the game has a ton of bugs and needs work is a bold statement that will only incite flames.

    you keep mentioning the developers.... you know... they have said things... but looking at their posts objectively i think people like you are using those posts and putting words into their mouths... turning them into something like they freely ADMIT game is bad blah blah... they did not admit anything.  please get over it... you people are trying to turn it into something that wasn't.... we had someone... the lead of the company... being flat out honest and actually communicating with the people....

    if they don't post, people like u whine because u say they don't communicate.... if they post, u start turning their words into something they haven't actually said by putting words into their mouths.... and whine about something else.... just get over it please.  seriously.

    I think you are the one who was mistaken. Go read their posts. They admit they know the game is buggy and Brad McQuaid admit that toward the end he was overwhelmed with the project. A lot of the people working on it were not veterans of the genre and they admit that now they are learning the hard way. They know they could have done a much better job. You are the one who needs to get over it. It is not the greatest mmorpg ever. If it was that great do you not think more than 150k people would be playing? If it was so great then why must you advertise "BUY IT, PLAY IT, LOVE IT" rather than advertising to TRY IT first?

    Here are some quotes of his from 1 article:

    "

    Had I had the financial resources, ability to place the product later, etc. I would have given us about 3 more months to get more polish in, more high level content in, and to distance ourselves from the WoW expansion

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    We made our own share of mistakes that took up time that in 20/20 hindsight would have made up for those 3 months perhaps
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Had I a time machine, I would go back and do a LOT of things differently, but then life doesn't work that way

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    It also took a lot more effort running the company from a non-creative standpoint than I had thought it would
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    I do take issue with the assertion that I promised a bunch of stuff we didn't deliver. I do fully admit my writing style is verbose and I made a significant effort to hype the game

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I think the biggest things that are hurting the game right now are:
    1. Performance. We simply asked too much of the engine
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    So while apologetic wherever and however we failed, overall I have no regrets looking back at the 5 years Sigil has been around and look to the next 5 years with even more anticipation. A lot of new mistakes were made, but we took notes and have long memories.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Yeah, I guess I was the one who put words in his mouth.
    Yeah, I guess I was the one who put words in his mouth.
    I played the beta and played a full month of the retail in march-april and realized towards the end its not any use paying $14.99 for the state this game is in, frankly if ever. it might not die, but itll be sitting snug in the station pass acess for whoever wants to blow away $30 on several mmo's. i personally am disappointed in it, i wanted to like it, but there is too many compounding issues, bugs, glitches, video card imcompatibities, sound issues, texure problems, performance issues, broken quests, not to mention nearing the end of my month it got harder and harder to find a group, not to mention less and less people were in our guild at any given time.sometimes you gotta know when to fold em lol and cut ya losses. I paid $50 it was a interesting month, but they dont deserve my money beyond the initital $50. 4 months into this game and it runs horrible, even with my dual core system and 8800 GTS.I personally feel they need to close this game down. or hand it off to SOE and let them run with it. frankly Im back In Eq2 and having a fun time. i got a bit of a wait til the new mmo's come out. so Ill play eq2 til then.
    so... you are saying the devs have stated AS A FACT THAT THE GAME HAS A TON OF BUGS. ok let's see exactly where in those comments of Brad he actually said that.
    again you state that they admitted THEY KNOW THE GAME IS BUGGY.  let me see where in those posts you quoted he said that. now he DID say his team was overwhelmed.  but that has nothing to do with bugginess.  also let me see where "the veterans of the genre" admits that the game is buggy.  they could have done better job yes, but again, that doesn't necessarily translate into someone admitting that game is buggy.  as for subscription numbers, a great niche game exists with far fewer sub number than 150k that i can say is great game.  subscription number does not automatically translate into a great game.  i can say wow is not a great game despite its huge subscription numbers.  there is no fact in these arguments.. they are purely opinions of each and every individuals and they differ.  but since you are claiming that is a FACT that they actually ADMITTED... let's see...
    he doesn't ADMIT here that his game is buggy and has TON of BUGS.  yes any game could use more months to put more polish and content in, but that doesn't automatically translate into admitting that game has ton of bugs.  ok next quote.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    We made our own share of mistakes that took up time that in 20/20 hindsight would have made up for those 3 months perhaps
    yep he says he made mistakes.  but even devs from a good and successful game also made mistakes i am sure.  admitting to mistakes that are not specified here doesn't automatically translate to admission of the game containing TON OF BUGS nor does it equal to admitting that the game is BUGGY.  next quote.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Had I a time machine, I would go back and do a LOT of things differently, but then life doesn't work that way
    yeah sure.. he could have done a lot of different things.  but again, nowhere in this sentence does he admit that the game is buggy and has ton of bugs.  a good game with lots of contents and polish with minor problem could have its developer come out and say the exact same thing too.  next quote.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    It also took a lot more effort running the company from a non-creative standpoint than I had thought it would
    oh yeah he is saying it took a lot of effort.  but does he admit that his game has ton of bugs and is buggy?  no.  next quote.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I do take issue with the assertion that I promised a bunch of stuff we didn't deliver. I do fully admit my writing style is verbose and I made a significant effort to hype the game
    he admits to three things: 1) he promised stuff he didn't deliever 2) he has verbose writing style 3) he made significant effort to hype the game.  now tell me where in this sentence he admits that the game is buggy and has tons of bugs.  yes he didn't deliever what he promised... but does that statement automatically translate into admitting that the game is buggy and has tons of bugs?  no... again u are putting words into his mouth.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    I think the biggest things that are hurting the game right now are:

    1. Performance. We simply asked too much of the engine
    the statement is just that.  he asked too much of the engine.  but again, does he admit here that the game is buggy and has ton of bugs?  no.  next quote.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    So while apologetic wherever and however we failed, overall I have no regrets looking back at the 5 years Sigil has been around and look to the next 5 years with even more anticipation. A lot of new mistakes were made, but we took notes and have long memories.
    so he is apologizing for the mistakes that were made.  so does that automatically equal to admitting that the game is buggy and has ton of bugs?  no.  a good game with virtually zero bugs still could have had mistakes made along the way, and someone like brad mcquaid for that game company could just as well make this exact same statement.. but would you at that situation say that particular comment translated into "he admitted that the game is buggy and has tons of bugs"??? no.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Yeah, I guess I was the one who put words in his mouth.
    yep  you just admitted that and i don't even need to quote you. and i just proved to you that you indeed have been putting words into his mouth.  with everything he said, there is nowhere anywhere that claims that his own game is buggy and has tons of bugs.  NOWHERE.

    now if you can please let the positive threads be... if you hate the game if u don't play the game.. that's fine.. don't play it.  but don't come to some thread where someone like me is trying to find and discuss about something positive and then start posting stuff like this which i haven't even asked for.  and this particular thread has nothing to do with you liking vanguard or not.  it's only talking about me.. I LIKE VG... i never said in this thread that u should like it and u must like it.  so next time u start trolling and make comments like the ones you posted, know your place before you post.

    Adding on from another quote I already posted, the rest of it was here:

    1. Performance. We simply asked too much of the engine. Tech becoming faster and cheaper will help us with this issue over the next 6 months, but that's 6 month's that *might* have been avoided. That, and we would have had more time to polish and fix bugs and get better and more complete high level content in (and maybe even a more workable AES)

    let's see... i only said in this thread things positive about this game which i enjoy.. WHICH I ENJOY.  if you don't enjoy it, that's fine... i respect that ... now why the need to come here and start throwing insults?  mind you.. in this thread, you haters started throwing insults and snotty comments first.   and here you are doing the same thing... if anyone posts anything remotely positive about vg, you haters, who claim you don't even play because of whatever yadda yadda come to a forun of game in which you hate so much or no longer play, and start hijacking positive threads.

    look around the vg forums and tell me one single thread that hasn't been hijacked by the kinds of you haters who are SO DETERMINED to spread your hate... i mean give it a rest.. you don't like the game, don't play it.. go play something else.  nobody is asking that you have to like it and play it.

    just re-read what you posted... see how downright rude u are and how hateful your tone is... just nothing but hate.... you really don't have anything better to do, don't you?

    oh yeah? then do you not post for yourself?  when you post, you never talk about YOUR perspective, YOUR experience, YOUR opinion, etc?  of course you do.. we all post about OUR OWN point of views.  and i posted MY point of views.. what.. you expect ME to post about YOUR point of views then??? does it makes any sense??  I never said this forum was just for me.  AGAIN you are putting words into my mouth.

    i have EVERY reason to make this thread, because i can only talk for ME, NOT YOU.  so there is enough reason for me to post... just like your post which has everything to do with YOUR point of view.. and NOT MINE.

    There is a difference in being a "hater" and a "realist". You are not a hater when speaking the honest truth. The reason people come and post in your threads is from the garbage you post in every other thread stating that Vanguard is the greatest game ever and puts the others to dust or whatever your saying is. If you didn't make such bold claims like that especially when the people who made the game admit faults with it and say sorry to everyone once every couple of weeks, you look like a total fanboy who has no clue what you are talking about, which in turn is viral marketing. If you go read their quotes, they said people who make posts like you do more harm for the game than you do good.

    now tell me exactly WHERE in this quote he is admitting that the game has TON OF BUGS and is BUGGY.  name me ONE single MMORPG that has ABSOLUTELY ZERO BUGS.  every freakin MMORPGs have bugs ALL THE TIME, and they always need to polish and fix bugs.  does that automatically translate into an admission of "game being buggy and having ton of bugs?"  NO!!

    again you are putting words into his mouth.
