hello, was just curious to find out if this game is worth getting into, ive played before and i loved the pvp side of the game... i played eq1 for 6 years, eq2 for 2 or 3, and wow for about a year, im tired of the slow grind that is PvE, daoc seems to mix it up quite nicely (from what i remember)... so i have some questions...
1.) does anyone see this game lasting after WAR is released? ( i know eq2 and wow killed alot of EQlives pop...)
2.) how hard is it to find a guild? do you have to be max lvl with raid gear?
3.) can a casual player make it anywhere starting from nothing? or has the population dwindled to hardcore vets?
4.) i have not played since shortly after SI was released (long time, i know...) the game seemed pretty healthy when i left, does it remain the same?
5.) what are the classic servers limited to?
any info would be much appreciated...thx, im getting to the point where i am about to give up on mmo's... everything nowadays seems to be thrown together to make a few quick bucks, its hard to find a good game like UO,EQ,DAoC...

2.) Guilds seem easy to find, no raid gear is needed.
3.) Play on a classic server and you will be fine. Highest pop and they are the most fun for a new or returning player.
4.) They have made tons of changes, 99% for the better. As long as you play a somewhat friendly solo class (which there are plenty of) you can level rather quickly (all classic zones give 1.5xp points and battlegrounds are 2x xp) and there are battlegrounds along the way to mix it up a bit.
5.) Classic servers basically cut out ToA.
I recently returned about 3 months ago and am having a blast.

Current Game FFXIV (Cactuar)
Looking for 1 healer for 8 mans.
2. Getting a guild can be pretty easy on most servers. Getting the "right" guild for you might take some time, but it is not like they are looking for maxed out toons. Most of the time guilds look for new players to the game because they are more likely to join. A significant portion of the population has no guild.
3. Yes.
I agree it is hard to find a good game. That is why I am still with DAOC. I am at the point of waiting for WAR. The changes made over the pst 2 patches have driven away all of those that I used to play with (this happens with all games. You just get to a point of just trying to hang in and then finally one change too many and you are out of there). I do not have any time to play right now. In a month I will have plenty of time and will be on a lot seeing if I can find another group of people to play with.
