From what I have gathered(hopefully im wrong) the consoles and pcs will be on the same servers.
PC people use Vent mainly for voice chat.Vent does not work with Xboxwhatever.
the xboxers say they have thier own voice system(which is prolly on par with the lowest TS codec) in which they can chat.
what im wondering is how are the pc players gonna voice chat with the console players.
Is AoC going to have built in voice chat?
This is looking lame,imo
any solid info on this.

Imo,funcom is over thier head as it is to get thier engine to run,let alone add voip.In a guild oriented pvp game voice chat is very critical, unless you like being cannon fodder.Whats ironic is the xbox-xxx has its own voice chat and is already DX10 capable.unless microsoft makes a sizable donation to ventrillo I doubt ventrilo will make a special xbox client, there still working on a linux client and celebrating thier mac client.
This is starting to look like a microsoft manuever to show off thier xbox cababilities to its console competition.Rather than a serious attempt to put out a PC mmo.I wouldn't be suprised if this sold more x-box copies than PC copies.I would say will there be any pc only servers.or r pc gamers gonna basically prop up the weaknesses of xbox at the cost of thier gaming experience.I'll be honest I don't have a love affair with the console crowd, but thats overtaken by my distrust for microsoft.mmo's aren't static in performance like standard console games, does m$ have upgrades ready to roll out.or is the pc faction stuck with a non-upgradable game.By the time you get an x-box and all the x-box only add ons.And i cant imagine playing an mmo w/o and lcd screen.you aren't very to far away from just buying a regular full featured pc.Im gonna go check out m$ and see what one of these widgets cost loaded.
To be honest I am not even really sure where to begin with your post. Let me clear some thing up for you.
- Microsoft has only agreed to do some marketing for Age of Conan because it will be a showcase title for Windows Vista. So Microsoft is in no way developing the game. The PC version of the game is coming out this October and the Xbox360 version is not coming out until sometime in 2008.

- So the only involvement Microsoft has is that they get the right to say that Age of Conan is a Windows Vista showcase game. The publishing agreement is with Sci/Eidos which you can read below. Funcom will operate servers and provide customer service for the game and collect and retain subscription revenues.

- When Age of Conan is released for the 360 I am positive it will recieve updates to the game just as the PC gamers would. I am not sure if you own an Xbox360, but you can already recieve updates to games through Xbox Live. So, as you said above, you won't have to worry about a non-upgradeable game.
Will Funcom have builtin VOIP at launch? My guess would be no, but we will only know for sure once the game releases. When they get to the point where the Xbox360 version is going to release I could possibly see them utilizing Xbox Live's current voicechat system seeing how Microsoft is making it possible starting in May to play games from your PC, but play on Xbox Live as if you were on your Xbox 360. So, I guess we will only know once the game is released.

We got teamspeak, vent, etc. Why waste time with this when they can be doing other contructive things?
For Xbox users all you have to do is the following.
1. Get two cans
2. Get some string
3. Tie them together and give one end too your buddy.
4. Talk/Listen
BAM! You guys got voice chat.
All kidding aside, they will have something for you all. Just wait.
Well, if you think that the price of a xbox 360 ($399.00 "loaded" plus approx. $50 for a keyboard and mouse) will be even near the cost of a PC that will be able to run this game at a similar level, you are severely misinformed. The graphical performance of a 360 is, at it's worst, on par with the latest PCs out there right now. Even a year and a half after it's launch.
Why do you think the gaming experience will suffer? As has been said many times before, the 360 supports the use of a keyboard and a mouse, and it has a very good voice chat system that is better than the voip or skype I've ever used on a PC. 360 users will quickly find that they'll want a keyboard to take advantage of all the controls, just as consolers have found on other mmorpgs (it didn't take consolers long at all to figure this out in FFXI). Not to mention, the combat in this game is supposed to be more real-time user controlled so a 360 controller could definitely come in handy. BTW, the 360 allows the simultaneous use of the controller and a keyboard.
There seem to be a lot of people on this site who want to see games be PC-exclusive, and its even worse when they express this by making negative, whiny, misinformed assumptions. I just don't get it. Maybe they just need exclusive games to help them justify why their PC costs 4-7 times more than a console. Anyway, the devs haven't said exactly how they will integrate console and PC users, but they did say they are currently looking at making some PC-only servers, some 360-only servers, and some servers that will have both PC and 360 players. Get used to seeing games most games on both console and PC. More game makers are looking at going this way just for the simple fact that it increases their potential player base, and I'm glad to see it.
Peace!

only other specs and accessories I could find is that it runs on shared 512mb ddr3 ram. I couldn't find any mice or keyboards. And it does'nt seem to be upgradable, microsoft just keeps cranking out new models.
thats about $600 or so for a toy.A good comp isnt 4,200 dollars.
to say that a toy with only 512mb shared video ram can out perform an nvidia 8800gtx is a joke.x-box only supports 1080i,pc supports 2000x1500
x-box runs on 512mb shared ram, comps run on 1-8gb of dedicated ram,not including video
I said upgrade not update.but why would i expect a console gamer to know the difference.
anyways as long as they keep you on your own server it wont matter.and if you beleive conan is going to run like a fps your having pipe dreams.ide be happy if they can pull a 200 player old school battle with thier in house code.I don't think 512mb shared memory is enough to be of use in a next gen pc mmo, there gonna have to modify it way down and put consolers on thier own server.
08' is 3 months after oct 07'
People comparing consoles to PCs basing their opinion on the amount of ram always crack me up.
Xbox runs Oblivion better then my PC with 2GB of ram and 512mb graphics card cause it was built for games from the ground up.
You have no idea about consoles, do you?
http://mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/setview/features/loadFeature/1156/gameID/191
they hope to have servers that have PC and x360 players together
cmon, it was on this website
im pretty exceited about the servers being combined, ive got a bunch of friends who will be playing on 360, and a bunch who will be playing on PC
plus you can plug a mouse and keyboard into a 360, and a controller into a PC, so no one should have an advantage or anything
HAHA! You simply have no idea. The architecture of a console is way different than that of a PC. As the above poster said, you can't compare the memory numbers of a PC to a console. Also, the 360 uses eDRAM, and ATI is not expected to incorporate eDRAM into their PC offerings. This means that the Xbox 360's eDRAM has more bandwidth to the frame buffer and z-buffer than even the most high end PC graphics card. Consoles are made with one thing in mind, games.
Here's a little something for you, and its no lie: My PC specs are C2D e6600 slightly OC'd, 2gigs RAM, NVidia i650 SLI MB, 8800 GTS 640mb, 320 GB HD, and Windows XP SP2 (approx. $2k w/ 22" LCD monitor). I've played both Oblivion and F.E.A.R. on my PC and my 360. In both games, the 360 ran them just as well, if not slightly better at times, than my PC. I know my PC isn't the latest and greatest, but its pretty damn good, and in gaming it certainly isn't better than the 360. ATI and MS have stated that even though the 360 isn't considered to quite be DX10, it was designed with DX10 in mind, has most of the enhancements that DX10 features, and is a step up from DX9. Game developers have even said that there isn't really much reason not to consider it DX10. Not bad for a machine that I purchased a year and a half ago for $400.00, and yes, that is the premium package price of the 360. The elite package you're referring to is the newest package, and has the better 120GB hard drive and a high definition dvd drive - $479.00 is a steal for what you get with it as the price range of stand-alone HD DVD players right now is about $400-$1,000 by themselves.
Anyway, if you don't want to play with consolers when the game is released, good for you, keep on with your ingorant closed-mindedness, and play on the PC only server, if they even have one, which I hope they won't.
well if u run a pc on a 22" monitor which is very high end($700+),high res montor framrates will drop.the xbox 360 uses 512mb of ddr3 ram which is shared by the system.Ati doesn't even make the ram, atm samsung is the leading ram maker. The edram is used by all consoles for thier L1 and L2 on die cpu cache.Xbox live does not come with a HD dvd drive, thats a $200 option. The 2 games you mentioned were downgraded to run on consoles. The max resolution of the xbox360 is only 1080i. 8800 gtx can run 2000x1500. the 3ghz in xbox is derived from 3 seperate 1ghz procs, practically scrap. The only thing that makes a cosole run decent is it has no os(or no bloated os).all the games are programed in low level language(probably assembly) usually console games are significantly more expensive, but xbox seems to be strugling in the market, and thier games are cheap.
Well this is probably a moot debate anyways,WAR seems to have won me over.I will give aoc a peak once there offering free trials. And yes ,i'm closed minded, I beleive console players are second tier gamers.

No. PC has showcased superior graphics to both PS3 and Xbox 360. A PC that can do that though, is very expensive.

We would like to see a PC only game, because we know how the live community of Xbox Live is. It's like CS.
That said, I don't think our gaming experience will suffer from the port to xbox 360. But I hope that we won't play on the same servers.
Ok the xbox360 is gods gift to gaming let's assume.Actually the ps3 smokes it,and once gates leaves ms,its future is doubtful after losing 4.7 billion dollars US.
But anyways it has voice, thats a fact.
PC's have VOIP thats a fact.
pc voip, and xbox voip are not compatable, thats an issue.
the highest res an xbox can go is 1080i,and thats on a HD TV
pc's can run 1600x 1200 progressive easily(max atm is 2000x1500).thats a big graphical difference, the pc will have LOD,view angle, and clip range visibility far superior to a 1080i res.this will make pc grps more effective in pvp.
Plus THE UBER EDGE of the pc gamer,Were used to games that dont work right.you pampered consoleers will panic at the first AoC error fd2346ad that pops on your screen.not to mention lockups, restarts, lag.you just don't know what your asking for.
To clear up a few false statements in this thread ...........
The 360 has a max resolution of 1920 x 1080 P not 1080i
The 360 has a tripple core 3.2 ghz CPU ,not three 1 ghz cores
No other consoles or PC video cards have the extra eDRAM on them ,only the 360 does
The 360 Elite does not come with the HD-DVD drive
The 360 isnt Direct X 10 and its not Direct X 9 either,its not Direct X anything.
well this is only slightly related, but it has to do with the whole PC vs 360 debate
Crysis (the FPS coming out this year which should revolutionize the industry) is only being made for computer, for the sole reason that the newest consoles cannot handle the requirements of the game.
