its a very nice game i mean graphic are top notch ,zoom in all the freaking detail are there lol,story is good you start in prophecy and there is this quest line at the start a little girl you get stuff for her and she give you a tapestry .lol a tapestry .nobody found what it is for yet? maybe its for the upcoming guildwars 2?pvp best in the industry very low lag ,checkable ping with a small dot color coded ,tournament each month in 1vs1 with prize starting in may guild fight .tournament 8vs8 world wide ,russia  just joined in by the way.in game camera for the best game reviewable 30 min after the event, everybody can see what appened so you cant lie about what happened lol .that cam is awsome you can keep it on somebody or leave it on auto to see where the action is .and to top it off you got 3 part if you play all you will be playing a while in pve .dont want to do that no problem go to pvp chose the toon and you got preselected toon ready to go to war with your friend to pwn.you even have god control places ,only when you own in the top spot can you go there europe as favor can get gold in the fissure .so to go there you got to go fight and with for america 4 or 5 win then its yours .this is where you begin to see how hard it is to win the favor of the god.the gameplay is simple like chess only 8 skill slot you can fill with your 2 chosen proffesion lets say ritualist /monk you got a box full of skill lol once you went in pve or baught the bonus thing over the net to unlock all skill for a given game.this is where the strategie play come in.you meet these opponent often lol and yet they are not npc they always come up with diifferent skill strategie it is frustrating cause as easy it is to be able to play to master  and be no1 in 1vs1,8vs8 will take anybody a long time .COOLEST GAME OUT THERE .IT AS PVE PVP AND A LOT OF CHALLENGE

I've been playing Guild Wars since it was in beta and think it's good for what it is.

The community is absolutely horrid and PvE can be very entertaining first time through a mission or area. The PvP is fun though..I greatly enjoy trying new builds and playing with/agianst other players. Since the game has no subscription it makes for the perfect " side" game. I played GW hardcore for a few months after launch ..even spawned our guild their for awhile but quickly realized that there was no way to halfway play the game and actualy accomplish anything so I gave up the guild idea.

I think if one gets deep into the GW community one will find very rewarding PvP action and co-op play with good players can make the PvE alot of fun too. I just play in the random arenas though...to get my PvP fix . I play almost daily still,,but usually only when I have an hour or so only to play...not enough time to bother logging into VG, but want need a game to entertaine me for a few. A few rounds of RA action usually does the trick nicely.

The random arenas are pretty much the " ghetto" part of the game...so I would encourage those sensitive to extreme ignorance and immaturity to turn the chat off .

Like most mmorpg's though...game is what you make of it. Some make it a very good game by joining a good, structured guild that does lots of GvG action. The pvp is a blast and I bet it's even more fun when one is in a group of vetern players ... personal skill in playing makes a HUGE difference in how successful one is in PvP battles. I've seen and personaly played terrible builds and been successful simply because I have so much personal experience playing and can beat any inexperienced player with almost any build I put against them.

It's a fun game...orginal and plays very well even on low end systems. I would reccomend it to anyone if they can handle the general immaturity that dominates a large % of the GW world....least at the casual levels.

thamoris you are absolutely right on both the guetto part and that you need to raise your filter cause if you dont raise oo men you  will think your back in first year of school lol.1 clarification tho,high end lvl pvp is very structured and they got either :ts,vent or xfire so you got to be serious about endgame if you want to see the best you you will be surprised how hard it is to reach it even with good player .cause thats where the fun begin before its nice but a top woowwwww .when you fight in the top 500 it begins to be mmm lets say imaginative.most gamer dont reach top 1000 .and dont fool yourself cause in the upcoming 1vs1 it WILL be ugly why cause we got some serious gamer that relaxed playing gw but with this 1vs1 they will be  like ooo men now i will pawn and get goodys .there are close to 3 million people saying themself the same thing so either everybody is a pro-gamer or think they are till they meet the one that owns gw to echellon .one exemple (esoteric warrior)out of so many top guild and lot have been guildy way before guild wars game change group stay the same .you want to own against these guys .better be praparing cause they are right now even if you dont see them in the cam action ,they just finish the tournament lol and most are in the top 50 .and good luck to all who will try 1vs1 .!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!ARE YOU READY  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Heh, I just voted Its pretty good for a free game..



Though it is possibly the closest game play you'd get of a monthly fee'd game.

Don't mind Serling, we get a ton of trolls here. Kinda makes a lot of us suspect first and find out later.

btw, I voted "Cool Game" as I feel there's still a lot of room for improvement.

Voted cool game, GW was my first on-line RPG and is a blast to play, I have not played

in a couple mos. myself been trying to find another game to try out and see the

differences.

I played VG for a couple of mos. and just let sub run-out, game had to many bugs

and lag, but I learned it is nice to be able to take your toon and explore just about

everywhere you can see and there is alot to see.

Big differences I see are GW has a mission driven pve story you have to follow to

progress through the game, so it kind of railroads to where you need to be going,

where a game like VG, as far as I could tell, had no real story behind it driving you

where to go, so it was up to you.

To me GW is mostly a PvP game, because after you finish the pve story missions,

all there is to really do is cap skills, farm for stuff, or try another class,  so most

ppl are in a hurry to finish the pve so they can get to the pvp stuff.

If you like to compete with other players in fast intense action, you will like GW,

if you are looking for pve exploration I would say look elsewhere.

- No boring and everlasting mob killing for xp (grinding)!

- Doesn't need months to make a decent charachter!

- Various and enjoyable pvp

- rpg elements

- set in a well build Fantasy world

-and thank god its instanced (I dont understand why ppl say this is a bad thing why??? Why persistant world is better?)

Agree with all the points made here..plus i dont have to spend hours for it to be enjoyable.  Yes the community makes me want to slap ppl sometimes...but its no worse than WoW.

I really want to like this game. It's by far one of the best looking worlds I've seen in an Online Game and the skillsets are superb! That said, I've never quite been able to get over the whole instanced world thing. I love the social side of Online Games and some of the best encounters I ever had while playing SWG, EQ2 or WoW were when I just happened to bump into someone while out in the wild. If they removed the instancing from GW, I think I'd love it.

Its a free good game! Good Graphics good every thing but after a while it can be boring, why do you think they sell expancions?? To try to people dont stop playing. You have to think that every thing in this world is about money and money nothing else! After all, you can only live once! Its what i think now the rest is whit you!!

ARGH!!! >.< Guild Wars isn't a free game, there are no monthly fees, slight difference :P
