Curse of the Vampire, Flying Mounts, etc

in Vanguard: Saga of Heroes

Just a few things here that's interesting.

There's an area in the game (cant remember what it's called) where you fight vampires, and if you get bitten you have a curse on you called "Curse of the Vampire". What this does is make you a vampire by night (with bonuses to stats and abilities), and then you're weakened during the daytime. This is of course until you can find a cure which there are a few ways (if you even want to be cured), but I've played with a few players that had been bitten, and it's pretty cool. Just thought I'd bring this up.

Flying mounts are coming, and this is one ---> Pegasus Flying Mount

I bet it will be very expensive though. :)


They are making some improvements to performance issues, gameplay, UI, and PVP slowly but surely. The game, being just released has great potential and it's worth playing until something better comes out. Nothing new so far has impressed me. Hopefully AoC and Warhammer will be the next ones. :)

    Most likely the Pegasus will be a rare super hard quest or raid drop.  And EQ2 had the Curse of the Vampire in their EoF expansion.  Everybody who enters the Loping Plains gets this curse with stat bonuses and negatives if I remember right.

    There are videos on TTH forums for the other flying mounts and the ships. Go check them out. Also, the Vampire curse it cool, reminds me of elder scrolls, and it will actually benefit you if you can only log on during certain hours to play.

    CoV, also known as Curse of the Vampire, is an extreamly cool addition. You get it from fighting in one of the several Vampire conclaves near Hillsbury Manor.

    There are several ways to cure it, but I'm leaving at least one toon with it. You can actually join the Vampire Cult there and "embrace the curse". During the night, it adds 15% to your run speed, as well as several Stat buffs.

    Bloodmages can actually learn an attack from Vampires at a higher level. There are also rummored to be several other "Curses" coming soon, including not only buffs but abilities as well. There is a Werewolf Clan as well, I'm rooting for a werewolf curse that lets you turn into a Werewolf at night :)

    Me and my guild suspect we have found the beginning of teh questline to obtain teh Unicorn



    Centres round Silverlake and the Zar



    Kill them until you get teh unicorn horn, activate quest from it and complete it

    Then take teh horn to the named unicorn at Unicorn Rock and they will speak to you, all it is then is a case of gaining enough faction, only problem is no quests to do this so only way i can see of doing it is to kill Zar



    so only about another 4000 kills to go until they change to Ally Status..........



    think i am doing that?? No chance too busy exploring :)

    Calm down, I think its quite a nice information he provided. And he also states :

    Actually, a little birdy told someone on SV that the Faction grind for Mr Horn-head isn't needed to start the Uni quest when it goes in... that's just what I read...

    I'm a Cor there, and proud of it! I do not serve in any official way there. As far as marketing, Mr Genius, try reading what other people there think of the game. It's not a Vanguard Fansite for sure, lol...

    If you notice when that was posted, it was posted after this post. I had forgot to tell the RLMMO folks about it, and this post reminded me. You see, like Barney, I believe in sharing. And yes, I think it is DAMN cool.

    I'm not a moderator of VG Spheres anymore just so you know. I had to leave and take alot of time away because I had a death in my family last year. I'm still a member but I'm not a moderator anymore.

    I'm one of the co founders of www.vgtact.com , so let me warn you that if you wish not to be tainted by my presence you can pay me in cash so that maybe one day I can pay off the debt I owe to my Sigil overlords who run my life by the end of a whip.



    Seriously people, I and most of the other affiliate staffers have posted our fair share of err, posts critical to the game, some have left, but most have stayed and enjoyed the game. We're not conspiring against you, and we're not out to get you, though it would seem like a lot of you are. Just chill out.



    Anyway, I just heard about the curse from someone in game a day or two ago, did they just put it in recently? I've known about Hilsbury for a while but no curse. A werewolf curse would be awesome! Reminds me of Morrowind with the vampire curses and then the werewolf thing up on Solstheim. Cool.

    When people like you stop coming here lying about the state of the game and trying to drum up sales for it, I will stop trying to let people know how it really is.   From your perspective I hate VG or Sigil, I would tell you that I'm just a girly man carebear who loves everyone and dosen't want them suckered in by corporate lies or the prattering of delusional fanboys.  Honestly, I can understand someone who has had a bad experience and wants to share it, what I can't understand is people who spend all their time on these boards trying to spread the STD that is VG?  I mean, I don't like throwing out the viral accusation without at least a shred of proof, but for Christ sake, I can't understand the mentality.  What motivates you people, it has to be something.

    Seriously lol do they put you guys on a schedule to come over here?  Everyone who has played VG knows about the Vampires, there is no way you are the producer of an affiliate and don't know about Vampires.  Heck, I believe they even did an article about it here on the .COM with the designer of the dungeon.  Strange how all of a sudden everyone and their brother wants to tell the world about Vangaurd: the Masquerade as if it was something shiny and new. Oh, and I'm gonna send the bill for cleaning my monitor to vgtact, blew coffee all over it.

    It's funny how you seem to know more about the game by the amount of time that you troll it than I do by the amount of time I play it.



    My highest adventuring level character is 17, it's not the sphere I focus most on.

    That's hilarious. You've been here less than a month and you've made 17 posts, all but three of which are about Vanguard. I've made thirty something posts in around two years, a good number of which aren't about vanguard (and even if they were ALL about vanguard, at least I'm not spending my time bashing a game I don't like).
