is this good for what i want in my comp:

well after a few years of constantly fixing my computer i decided to just build my own, but im not sure exactly what i should be getting but my ideas are this:



- 1 gig of ram (no need for 2 at the moment) - this depends on if the motherboard i choose allows me to have this, if not ill get the max i can.

- i want to buy external hard drives and then have a mother board that can boot with usb, so about 300 gigs of external hard drive.

- maybe ill get the NVIDIA nForce 600i mother board or the 680i

- ill get the latest geforce graphics card

- not to sure about the case yet but ima going to buy one that it is gonna look crazy lol



now im pretty sure that nothing comes with the motherbaord (like graphics card, and memory) so the main thing is the mother baord, then the graphics card then the memory

Well, actually I am a nVidia GeForce fan myself, but Newegg was running a special on the Radeon card there, but I would replace that with the XFX nVidia GeForce 7900GS OC'd edition. And yeah this computer will handle gaming quite damn well as well as multi-tasking.  Do you have a budget? I will make a computer build to fit your budget.

in a way i have a budget, i mean i have support from people willing to loan some money as long as i pay them back, lol... but i would say that i can go as high as... $700 maybe, but this is going to be a computer that i will use for years so if i wanted to, i have to be able to change something like the graphics card... i would prefer a lower budget for a better computer but i am aiming for a new computer for the next few years so its going to be worth my money.



also, does that motherboard boot from usb?

If you're building your own pc, there's really no need to skip out on RAM, you might as well get at least two gigs...one gig is hardly anything these days for gamming purposes.

Yeah, the Core 2 Duos are pretty good. But AMD just did a price cut on all of their CPUs and now AMD and Intel are even bang for your bucks again. That is until Intel does a price cut.

haha OMG sorry that made me laugh. That is the EXACT first case I bought to build my first computer. But take my advice its a piece of shit and doesnt look like that in real life. Also NEVER use the power supply it comes with. It killed my A-Bit Fatal1ty motherboard.

I have to head to bed, so I cant check all those links, but yes you do need the power supply. power Supplys that come with cases suck and will short out your mobo.
